Beef BBQ combo for two by Uijeongbu Station, revisited: Supsok Oki Jip
In short
Supsok Oki Jip is a Korean beef BBQ restaurant in an alley behind Uijeongbu Station in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. On a reserved revisit, the banchan (side dishes) and tableware were already set, and the table ordered 1 portion each of diced short rib and emperor rib finger (hwangje neukgansal), plus an add-on set of tripe hot pot and curry. Verdict: even single portions at Supsok Oki Jip were surprisingly generous, and two people with different tastes each found a favorite.

Finding Supsok Oki Jip from Uijeongbu Station
Supsok Oki Jip is a beef BBQ restaurant located behind Uijeongbu Station. It's in an alley packed with all kinds of eateries, like small local diners and canned-style gopchang (grilled intestines) spots, so it was easy to find without getting lost.

The atmosphere and the reserved setup
The restaurant has a lush, cozy interior. It looks nothing like the typical BBQ place you'd picture — the interior is so pretty it'd work well as a date spot. And there's an indoor restroom too, which makes things even more convenient!!

Since I had reserved in advance, the basic banchan (side dishes) were already set up when I arrived. It was nice that the tableware was laid out cleanly and ready to go too.

If you're torn on what to order, try this combo
Here's the menu at Supsok Oki Jip. My order is pretty much fixed every time I visit: rib finger (neukgansal) and diced short rib. Each one has its own kind of deliciousness. If you're on the fence, let me recommend the combo I ordered!!!
- Rib finger (neukgansal)
- Diced short rib
- Add-on set (tripe hot pot, curry)
By the way, they're also running a Naver review event, so it might be worth joining that too.

One basic setup per person
The basic setup includes soup, dipping sauce, and three side dishes that go well with the meat. The kimchi was perfectly ripened and delicious, and the braised mushrooms paired with the meat surprisingly well. The soup tasted exactly as I imagined. What I liked was that this setup wasn't just one per table — each person got their own. That made it so much more comfortable to enjoy the meal.

Add-on set: tripe hot pot
First, the tripe hot pot arrived. Even though it's not the main dish, doesn't it look incredibly appetizing? It has not just tripe but meat and soft tofu too, with a generous amount of perilla seed powder — it seemed like it would make a great drinking snack.

Curry at a BBQ restaurant — an unexpected combo
Next up was the curry. Curry isn't something you'd expect at a beef BBQ place, but the combo works better than you'd think. It's not too spicy or too bland — just the right amount of kick — and it has meat in it too. My chopsticks kept going back for more, and I finished it before I knew it.

Diced short rib vs. rib finger
Finally, the main event — the meat — arrived. I'd already eaten plenty, but my mouth is watering again just writing this... You can tell it's fresh even as raw meat, right?

First up, my personal favorite: diced short rib. They even diced the mushrooms to match, for a nice coordinated look. Meat grilled over charcoal can hardly be bad, so my mouth was watering before I even took a bite.

I tend to prioritize texture when eating meat — and pretty much everything else — so this is the cut I enjoy most. I prefer the cleaner taste of pork neck over pork belly, and if your taste is similar, you'll be satisfied here. It was clean-tasting and cut to a perfect bite-sized size.

Next is my friend's favorite: the rib finger (neukgansal). It looks incredible right from the start. Thanks to the sweet sauce, it's a flavor that people of all ages, kids included, would love. As you eat, you start craving something bolder, so your hand reaches for the tripe hot pot, and then you find yourself wanting the sweet meat again — an endless loop. We ordered one portion each of diced short rib and rib finger, but as we ate, we were surprised by how much food it actually was.

Conclusion after a revisit
The portions were clearly generous, yet once again we ended up marveling at every bite and finishing it all without leftovers. Every time I visit, I leave fully satisfied with an empty table, so if you're looking for a good beef BBQ spot in Uijeongbu or a good restaurant near Uijeongbu Station, I'd recommend Supsok Oki Jip. It was a delicious meal :)
