Kid-friendly Dongnae BBQ, C set 900g for four: Sanseong Meat Shop
In short
Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Dongnae, Busan that ages its pork with traditional nuruk (fermentation starter) and has staff grill every cut at your table. Four adults and one 7-year-old booked the 5-person private room through Naver and ordered the C set for four, 900g at 97,000 won, plus buckwheat pot rice and grilled pork skin, and the nuruk-aged pork neck came out far more tender than regular pork neck. Sanseong Meat Shop suits family dinners with kids and small gatherings.

Today I'm introducing Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch, a slightly special pork belly spot I found while looking for somewhere for a family meal with my parents in Dongnae 💛

Sanseong Meat Shop ages its pork using traditional nuruk (fermentation starter) from Dongnae, Busan, and started out as a butcher shop, so they manage everything from selecting to aging the meat themselves — that really set it apart from other BBQ places 👍🏻

🚗 How to get there and where to park
Just walk from Exit 4 of Dongnae Station on Line 1 toward Myeongnyun Xi Apartments! About a 5-minute walk ✔️ Very accessible by public transit. There's no free lot on-site, but nearby paid parking runs ₩2,000 an hour!

I booked ahead through Naver Reservations for a weekday 6pm visit — I get the feeling that Friday or weekend evenings would mean a definite wait!! The traditional hanok tile roof is charming, there are chairs out front for waiting, and the aging meat is displayed for everyone to see, which made it feel like a distinctive place :)

The interior is very clean and well set up, so it'd be great for a family gathering or small work dinner too! Fitting with the shop's identity, there's Sanseong makgeolli (rice wine) on display, and each table has one charcoal grill plus a small brazier to keep the meat warm until the very end.
Why the 5-person private room works with a young child
Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch has private rooms that fit anywhere from 5 to 8 people. Since we were 4 adults and 1 kid, I booked a 5-person private room ahead of time on Naver, and we were shown to a room with all the side dishes already set.

The room in the photo is empty since I took it before we arrived, but if you book ahead, all the side dishes will already be set up — completely great for a family meal with kids or a small gathering!
The side dish spread, with beef radish soup included
Sanseong Meat Shop's standard spread is neat and distinctive, and comes with warm beef radish soup included. Thanks to the mini brazier in the middle, you can eat the last bite warm too.

Other things I loved about Sanseong Meat Shop:
- Staff grill the meat for you
- They move the meat to the center mini brazier so you can eat the last piece warm
- Warm beef radish soup comes standard, too
On top of that, the spread — buckwheat sprout salad, nuruk salt, several styles of sauces, pickles including wood ear mushroom pickle, mayo-truffle scallion salad, and more — was unlike anything I've seen elsewhere, so distinctive! 👍🏻 Genuinely amazing! Every single item was delicious, you really have to try them all 💛💛

What we ordered: C set for four, 900g at 97,000 won
You order through the kiosk at each table, and since there's a set menu, we picked without much thought haha. They had Korean beef too — I'd like to try that next time! But the pork belly was really, really excellent too. The side dishes and rice options were great too (not pictured, but there's also bang-a doenjang stew — delicious!), and there was even draft beer by the sip that wasn't on the menu board, so check the kiosk carefully 🙂

- C set for 4 / 900g (₩97,000)
- Buckwheat pot rice + bang-a doenjang stew set (₩9,000)
- Buckwheat pot rice (₩4,000)
- Soju, beer (₩5,000 x 4)
- Extra egg (₩3,000)
- Pork belly skin (₩6,000 x 2)
I thought the meat might run a bit short and we'd need to order more, but the buckwheat pot rice was so good that eating it alongside the meat filled us up surprisingly well! Finishing with the pork skin made it more than enough 🤎 Just look at the color on that meat, isn't it amazing.. And the nuruk-aged pork neck was so much more tender than regular pork neck, too — we enjoyed all three cuts happily :)

Tableside grilling service, the sauces and sriracha pork skin
The staff kept an eye on the grill the whole time, kindly explained what each side dish was whenever we asked, grilled the meat to just the right doneness, and introduced us to the sauces, salts, and kimchi on the table that pair well with the meat — we tried it their way and it was genuinely the best! Eat it like in the second photo~! ✔️ I took a picture so I wouldn't forget haha.
And the pork skin!! It's delicious so make sure to order extra :) The sauce is different from other places too — instead of curry powder or bean flour, it's a sriracha-based sauce, a distinctive flavor we enjoyed happily to the very end.
Sizzling meat and pork skin are love 💛 The buckwheat pot rice was excellent too — after finishing the rice, be sure to add warm buckwheat tea for sungnyung (scorched rice tea) :) Sanseong Meat Shop doesn't have plain steamed rice! I recommend the buckwheat pot rice instead ☺️

The castella-style rolled egg
There's a reason it's called 'castella rolled egg'! It's rolled so soft and fluffy, I'm curious how they make it so well — next time I want to order the salted pollock roe too and try it together haha. I saw in other reviews that some staff stack the rolled egg on the grill with the meat, but the staff member handling our room made it separately on a plate :)

Our 7-year-old daughter had buckwheat pot rice plus perfectly grilled meat, and with the rolled egg they gave her along with rice, she ate so well! Our family can't stand leaving food, and today we cleaned our plates again >.< haha. Would 100% come back 👍🏻🧡
Final verdict on Sanseong Meat Shop Dongnae Main Branch
As a place that started as a butcher shop, Sanseong Meat Shop selects good quality meat and ages the pork with traditional nuruk from Dongnae, Busan, giving it a different charm from the pork belly I usually eat! Having staff grill the meat for you so you can eat comfortably, plus the distinctive sauces, were all very satisfying. If you're looking for a clean, delicious BBQ restaurant in Dongnae, I'd recommend Sanseong Meat Shop! Enjoy a special meal with the people you love 😊
