Sillim Indian restaurant, two Set A dinners to share: India Darbar
In short
India Darbar is an Indian restaurant on the second floor of a building on Sillim-ro, near Exit 3 of Sillim Station in Gwanak, Seoul. Two diners visited at 8pm on a weekday and ordered two Set A meals, choosing palak paneer and one chicken makhani, so each tray arrived with curry, naan, rice, chicken tikka, green salad and lassi. If you want to share two different curries, two Set A meals beat the two-person set, and the freshly baked naan at India Darbar was the highlight.

You know those days when you just want naan with a thick, rich Indian curry haha. This time I went to India Darbar, right near Sillim Station. They also have a branch at Samseong Station, and even at 8pm on a weekday there were quite a few customers. The Set A tray was fuller than I expected, and above all... the naan here is delicious ㅜ🤍🤍

India Darbar is a quick walk from Exit 3 of Sillim Station. It's on the second floor of a building right on the main Sillim-ro street, so it's easy to find on your way from the station for a meal!

India Darbar at 8pm on a weekday: the room and the mood
We visited close to 8pm on a weekday, and I figured it would be quiet since it was late in the evening. But surprisingly, quite a few tables were already full.

The inside was also bigger than I expected from outside, with red tones and Indian-style decor that completely shifts the mood the moment you walk in. It definitely feels more like a local Indian restaurant than your typical curry shop!
What's on the menu at India Darbar

The menu was so varied I took several photos. If picking one dish feels hard, going with a set looks like a solid option too.
There really are so many curries. From chicken makhani and chicken masala to vegetable-based curries like palak paneer.
Tandoori dishes, samosas, naan, lassi—pretty much everything you'd expect from an Indian restaurant was there.

The two of us ordered two Set A meals, choosing palak paneer and chicken makhani as our curries.
Set A comes with curry, naan, rice, chicken tikka, green salad, and lassi all together.
Set A: everything on one tray

After ordering and waiting a bit, it came out as one full tray. The curry bowl looked smaller than expected, but somehow there was still some left over by the end. Curry + naan + rice + chicken tikka + green salad, all at once.

Plus one lassi each. It was more filling than I thought. The Set B comes with one large curry to share, so if you want to split two different curries like we did, I'd recommend going with two Set A orders instead.

Palak paneer: spinach curry with cheese
Palak paneer stands out with its striking green color. It's a spinach-based curry with paneer, an Indian-style cheese, mixed in. I was a bit worried at first hearing it was a spinach curry, but it was better than expected.

Chicken makhani: the mild butter chicken
And chicken makhani, which you pretty much always end up ordering when you go for Indian curry. It's a smooth chicken curry made with tomato, cream, and butter, so it has a richer, nuttier feel than the palak paneer. The spice wasn't too intense and it was creamy, which made it perfect for dipping naan.

The best part was the freshly baked naan
But my favorite part was honestly the naan ㅜㅜ It comes out freshly baked and warm, chewy on the outside and soft inside, delicious even just torn off and eaten plain haha. I was basically dipping curry into the naan just to keep eating the naan haha.
Who should order two Set A meals at India Darbar
India Darbar in Sillim had more customers than expected even close to 8pm on a weekday. Our combo of palak paneer + chicken makhani was great, and the naan here was really good ㅜㅜ If you're looking for something a bit different from your usual Sillim meals, or searching for a good Indian curry spot near Sillim Station, this place is worth a visit :)
