I was looking for a raw fish restaurant in Bojeong-dong, Yongin, and ended up at Mr. Squid Yongin Bojeong Branch. Parking is available in front of and beside the restaurant, and there's a nearby public parking lot too, so it was convenient even if you drive.

The hours are Mon–Fri 16:00–04:00 and Sat–Sun 15:00–04:00, so it's great not just for dinner but for late-night visits too. It's hard to find a bar these days that stays open this late into the early morning. Drinking until 4am, then hitting a noraebang and taking the first train home sounds perfect.

What the interior and the sofa seats are like

Inside Mr. Squid Yongin Bojeong Branch, the seats were spacious and the tables had generous spacing, making it comfortable to eat. It looked fine for groups too, and the atmosphere was easygoing enough for family gatherings or meetups.

Even though I wasn't by the window, the view wasn't cramped at all, so I stayed comfortable throughout the meal. There were also sofa seats in the middle, which were nice.

What comes in the 62,000-won squid and live fish set

Full spread of the squid and live fish set

What I ordered was the squid and live fish set, along with a bottle of Sero soju. It came with assorted sashimi, squid sashimi, fried squid, and steamed egg, so I could enjoy a variety in one sitting.

The vegetables were really fresh, making the sashimi taste even more refreshing when eaten together.

What tasted best at Mr. Squid

Chewy-textured squid sashimi
Crispy fried squid
Warm steamed egg served with the meal

The squid sashimi had a good chewy texture, and it was fun to pick through the different types of live fish sashimi. The fried squid was crispy, and the steamed egg was warm, which felt like it cleansed the palate in between bites.

The basic side dishes came out clean too, and the seaweed soup paired well with the vegetables and sashimi. Eating it together with Sero soju made the meal and the drink flow together naturally, which was even more satisfying. These days I've had to cut back on soju-and-beer mixes since starting Mounjaro, haha...
