Budget dumpling hot pot in Cheonan where 2 servings fed 3: Omi Omi

My mood changes like the weather these days~~ I'd been craving something cold and hunting for noodles every day, but today I suddenly wanted a piping hot, steaming broth to fight heat with heat!! So I'm off to eat the dumpling hot pot my uncle loves 🤭

After wandering around Independence Hall with a growling stomach, I headed to Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch (오미오미 수제만두전골&칡냉면 소노벨 본점), famous in Cheonan for its dumpling hot pot. The taste is great, but the real surprise is that you get all this for this price?! Shall we go together? Let's goooo 🩷

Omi Omi Handmade Dumpling Hot Pot & Kudzu Naengmyeon Sono Bell Main Branch is at 10 Dongpyeong 3-gil, Bukmyeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam. It's open 11:00–21:00 (last order 20:00), with a break time of 15:00–16:30. You can park in front of the restaurant.

What does Omi Omi mean, and what is the restaurant like?

Even from the outside, the Omi Omi Sono Bell Main Branch looks huge! I was wondering what "Omi Omi" means, and right at the entrance there was a sign explaining it :)

"Omi Omi" means enjoying and tasting the five flavors, carrying the hope that you'll feel the joy of many different tastes.

Even though lunchtime was over, plenty of guests were still eating~ The ceiling is high, so the place feels even bigger and more open. It didn't feel stuffy at all, which I loved 🙂

What we ordered at Omi Omi

Omi Omi is famous for its dumpling hot pot, so dumpling hot pot it is. And noodles are my true love haha, so one bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles) too 😍

Table setting and the unlimited self-serve bar

Each table already has the seasonings and basics set up 😊 The unlimited self-serve bar has side dishes and tableware, so you can take as much as you need :) I love that you don't have to feel awkward asking for more! Just take a reasonable amount thoooough ❣️

Wait, and if you order the dumpling hot pot, the ramen and sujebi (hand-torn dough flakes) add-ons are unlimited.. Doesn't the sujebi, where you tear off the dough yourself, sound delicious? ☺️ Come out already, hot pot~~~~

Free steamed handmade mandu before the hot pot

When we ordered the dumpling hot pot for 2 at Omi Omi, 4 steamed handmade mandu (dumplings) came out right away (2 kimchi, 2 meat)~ :) The service is no joke, right? They're special healthy dumplings made with shiitake mushrooms and bracken. Maybe that's why? They were light, with a really nice chewy texture :)

Let me quickly try one while it's warm. I'll cut it in half so it's easy to eat in one bite-! Steam is rising, piping hot~~

Wow, can you see all the meat packed inside? It was really so good! It's hard to find handmade kimchi mandu that suit my taste.. but Omi Omi's kimchi mandu wasn't salty, the seasoning was just right, there was no funky smell, and it was delicious 😄 The meat mandu was also, no words needed ❣️ My expectations were up even before the main dish came out!

Omi Omi spicy dumpling hot pot for 2 at 30,000 won: how does it taste?

Finally, the dumpling hot pot we ordered has arrived! The dumpling hot pot (2 servings) is ₩30,000, and you can choose mild or spicy broth. We went with spicy 😍 It comes with sweet pumpkin, meat, shrimp, dumplings, vegetables and glass noodles.

Wow, what a generous spread!!😘 Even the hot pot has 2 king dumplings! Get delicious, get delicious~~ There's a lot of meat too~ It looks so appetizing.

Now that even the meat is perfectly cooked, let's fish some out and eat~! Ahh, it's so light and delicious! The broth is spicy and refreshing~~ I liked that the flavor isn't overly intense T_T Honestly my hand kept going back for more until the very end!!👍 I'll grab lots of meat and vegetables and dip them in the sauce~~

Omi Omi kudzu bibim naengmyeon for 10,000 won

The bibim naengmyeon has arrived! It's ₩10,000, with kudzu noodles topped with thinly sliced cucumber and lots of sesame salt. Mixing mixing hard~~~

As expected.. sweet and tangy.. the sauce is delicious :) Sometimes the chili powder smell hits you too hard, but Omi Omi's bibim sauce has a balanced sweet-salty flavor that clings nicely in your mouth ❣️

And the broth is the masterstroke! It tasted like a mix of beef broth and dongchimi (radish water kimchi) broth ☺️ Refreshing and super tasty ♡

Free mul naengmyeon with any hot pot order

Oh, and if you order a hot pot at Omi Omi, the mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in broth) is free!

They brought 2 small bowls :) It seems you normally ask for it after the meal, but we asked in advance! The broth is good here too, so refreshing that it keeps going down haha Don't underestimate the small size! After the hot pot, the add-ons and the sujebi.. even this amount starts to feel like a lot T_T

Unlimited sujebi: tearing the dough into the pot yourself

No matter how full I was, I gave up on the ramen add-on, but I couldn't give up the sujebi you scoop in yourself 😄 I'll tear off bits of dough and drop them in :) And the sujebi cooked in no time! Seriously.. I'd have been so sad if I hadn't eaten this 😭

The sujebi dough is truly a work of art 👍 Super soft and delicious 😘 Happy mealtime~~ yoohoo~

Is a 2-serving dumpling hot pot enough for three people?

With the 2-serving dumpling hot pot at Omi Omi plus bibim naengmyeon, free mul naengmyeon and sujebi, the three of us ate until we were stuffed 🤭😊😍 From the leftover sujebi to the still-plentiful meat and mandu, we cleared it all haha The portions were honestly much bigger than I expected. Another perfect wipe-out today!!!! We were so full and had such a good meal 🩷

On the way out after paying, they were selling yeot (Korean taffy), and offering tasty candy and coffee for free 😍

The dumpling hot pot was so clean and refreshing, and I really enjoyed it. If you're looking for a good dumpling hot pot place near Independence Hall, I recommend Omi Omi 👍
