Braised tuna banchan and bibim naengmyeon at Suwon BBQ: Olheun Gogi
In short
Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant a 2-minute walk from Exit 6 of Mangpo Station in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, where staff grill top-grade Korean pork and Australian wagyu at your table. For a family gathering the writer ordered the Olheun Pork Hansang Set at 118,000 won and bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold buckwheat noodles) at 7,000 won, and rated the braised tuna with radish, the chamnamul greens and the deoksal cut the highlights. The naengmyeon only arrived after all the meat was gone, but the meat quality and tableside grilling at Olheun Gogi made the meal worth it.

I went to a pork BBQ place near Mangpo Station in Suwon for a family gathering. This time I visited Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch, a well-known Mangpo Station BBQ spot. The restaurant was clean and spacious, and staff grilled the meat for us so we could eat comfortably. Since they only use premium Korean pork and wagyu, the meat quality was better than I expected, and I came away really satisfied. I really enjoyed the meat itself and want to introduce it to you.

Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch, a well-known Mangpo Station BBQ spot, was really accessible — about a 2-minute walk from Mangpo Station Exit 6. Being right by the station made it convenient by public transit, and parking was available too, so it was fine to drive. There's a parking space in front of the restaurant, and if it's full, they'll direct you to a parking tower and even support 2 hours of parking.
Rooms and atmosphere for family gatherings and work dinners

The interior was bigger than I expected. When you think of a Korean BBQ place, you might picture an old-school, slightly chaotic vibe, but Olheun Gogi felt closer to clean and sophisticated. The tables were spaced quite far apart, so we could talk without worrying about the next table over, and it seemed like a good spot for family gatherings or work dinners. Sure enough, there were plenty of families and groups having a get-together when I visited.
I couldn't get a photo, but there were also private rooms for dining. They have a room for about 12–14 people and one for about 30, so if you're visiting in a group, booking a room seems like a good idea. Group bookings can accommodate up to 90–108 people on inquiry. If you're looking for a place near Mangpo Station for a work dinner or family gathering, this seems like a solid choice.
Olheun Gogi uses top-grade Korean pork, and for beef, they use premium Australian wagyu.
The restrooms were separated by gender and located inside the restaurant, which was convenient, and they were kept very clean.
They also had plenty of high chairs, so it seemed fine to visit with kids for a family meal out.
What comes in the 118,000-won Olheun Pork Hansang Set

The signature set menus at Olheun Gogi, a well-known Mangpo Station BBQ spot, are the Olheun Beef Hansang Set, the Olheun Pork Hansang Set, and the Chadol Samhap Yukhoe Set.

You could order easily using the tablet at the table. There was a wide range of both pork and beef cuts, as well as set menus. I wanted to try several pork cuts at once, so I ordered the Olheun Pork Hansang Set. It included Korean beef yukhoe (raw beef tartare) + top-grade Korean pork belly, pork neck, and deoksal + grill cheese + steamed egg.

The banchan: braised tuna with radish and Korean beef yukhoe

A little while after ordering, the basic banchan (side dishes) started coming out one by one. There was myeong-i namul (wild garlic leaves), baek-kimchi (white kimchi), gat-kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), pickled cucumber, garlic, wasabi, salt, and ssamjang. Every dish was plated neatly, which looked great too.
Warm braised tuna with radish also came out as a default side. It was my first time trying braised tuna, and it was tastier than expected. The seasoning was well balanced and the radish was cooked soft. I ended up nibbling on things while waiting hungrily for the meat, and by the time it arrived my appetite was fully awake, haha.

There was also seasoned chamnamul (wild chervil). I generally like vegetables and namul, so personally this was one of my favorite side dishes. The fragrant scent of chamnamul really shone and went well with the pork.
The Korean beef yukhoe included in the set also arrived. It was plated beautifully over diced pear, and between the banchan and the yukhoe, the overall plating was clean enough that you could bring guests here without worry.
On the side came minced garlic and chili along with an egg yolk. Dipping the yukhoe in garlic, chili, and the yolk was genuinely delicious. The seasoning wasn't too strong, just mildly sweet, letting the savory flavor of the yukhoe itself shine through.

If you need lettuce wraps, you can order free ssam vegetables via the tablet. We got lettuce, napa cabbage, and chili peppers, and the chili wasn't too spicy, so it was easy to eat.
Pork belly, pork neck and deoksal grilled by the staff

Then the pork we ordered arrived. Pork belly, pork neck, and deoksal came out along with vegetables like onion, mushroom, and sweet pumpkin.
One of the most convenient things about Olheun Gogi was that staff grill the meat for you. At a BBQ restaurant, the person grilling is always the most frazzled — grilling meat, taking care of everyone else, eating yourself, having conversations... But here, staff grilled from start to finish, which made things really easy. And it wasn't just grilling for the sake of it — they grilled it really well.

Honestly, when I first saw the meat, it looked thick and fresh, but I wondered if it would really be that different from any other pork restaurant. But once it was fully grilled and I took a bite, my thoughts changed. I guess there's a reason they use top-grade Korean pork. Combined with the staff's grilling skill, the pork flavor was better than expected.

Grilled to the perfect timing, the meat was full of juice, and rather than feeling greasy, it had a clean, savory flavor. Since they even checked the grill temperature while cooking, the meat never overcooked into dryness, and that let me just focus on eating.
They also had myeoljeot (salted anchovy sauce) ready, so I tried dipping the meat in it. It also went well with banchan like myeong-i namul, baek-kimchi, and chamnamul.
I also had a bite of the mushrooms grilled alongside the meat and enjoyed a well-packed lettuce wrap.

The surprise favourite: deoksal, also called gabrisal
Personally, the cut I unexpectedly enjoyed the most was deoksal. I didn't know what cut deoksal was at first, but it turns out it's also called gabrisal. I usually like pork belly the most, and I'm not a big fan of pork neck since it's leaner and can feel dry. But at Olheun Gogi, even the pork neck was softer than expected, and the deoksal in particular was really delicious.

It looked like it would be dry since it appeared to be mostly lean meat, but it wasn't dry at all. The texture was chewy and held plenty of juice, so the savory flavor built up with every bite. The outside was slightly springy and the inside was moist — exactly my taste. Even someone who only likes pork belly like me really enjoyed the deoksal.
I was a bit sad there wasn't a soup dish like doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) included in the set, but the steamed egg helped make up for that. Rather than dense and firm, it was fluffy and soft. Taking a spoonful here and there cleansed the palate nicely.

One slightly unusual thing was that grill cheese was also included in the set. I heard wrapping meat with the cheese tastes great. I was already pretty full from the meat, so I wasn't really craving cheese, and just tasted a bit before passing, haha.
The letdown: bibim naengmyeon served too late

Since we were eating meat, I also ordered a bibim naengmyeon. The flavor itself was fine, but it was disappointing how long it took to arrive. I ordered it at the same time as the meat, but after waiting a long while it still hadn't come, so I asked staff two or three times. Each time, I was told the kitchen orders were backed up. In the end, the naengmyeon only arrived once we had nearly finished all the meat. I'd ordered it to eat alongside the meat, so having it come out almost at the end of the meal was a bit of a letdown.
The taste was fine, but I do think this part could use some improvement.
A Mangpo Station dinner spot open until 3am
The strengths of Olheun Gogi, a pork belly restaurant near Mangpo Station, are its clean interior, reliably good meat, and the fact that it's open until 3am.
If you're working late and getting off after a long shift with coworkers for a casual meal, you can come here any time, no matter how late. It seemed great as a work dinner spot for the Yeongtong or Mangpo area or Samsung department dinners, family gatherings, or date nights.

I enjoyed the meal and was overall satisfied, and got to spend good time with family.
Final verdict on Olheun Gogi Suwon

The biggest strengths of Olheun Gogi, a BBQ restaurant near Mangpo Station, are the clean interior, quality meat, and the tableside grilling service. It was especially nice that staff grilled from start to finish, so even visiting with family, we didn't have to be distracted by grilling and could just eat. The varied, neatly arranged banchan were great, and thanks to the top-grade Korean pork, the meat itself was satisfying. Above all, even though I usually like pork belly the most, the deoksal was surprisingly the most memorable this time, and the Korean beef yukhoe was delicious too. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable, so it seems like a good fit for family gatherings or work dinners near Mangpo Station, and being open until 3am is a real plus for eating or gathering late at night. If you're looking for a clean BBQ restaurant near Mangpo Station for a family gathering or work dinner, Olheun Gogi Suwon Main Branch is worth a visit.
