My hair was so damaged that I went in for a salon visit. This time I went to JUNO Hair Sangam DMC. I was thinking of just getting a cut, but I wanted to change up my style a bit, so I decided to get a layered cut with a C-curl perm together.

Arriving 20 minutes before opening: the wait and the welcome

My appointment at JUNO Hair Sangam DMC was for 10am, and I arrived about 20 minutes early, sitting in the inner waiting area. The exterior had a nice vibe — clean and a little stylish.

It looked like they were having a meeting before opening, so I let the front desk staff know I was there and sat quietly waiting. I browsed some products next to me while waiting haha. Once it hit opening time, a staff member came over and guided me kindly. The service was friendly from the very start, so there was nothing uncomfortable about the wait.

How much length should a layered cut keep?

After being shown in, I got my hair washed first and then had the real consultation. What I wanted this time was a layered cut + C-curl perm. I'd decided on that much of a big-picture plan, but I hadn't decided on the bangs or overall length, so I talked through the style I wanted during the consult.

I especially asked about cutting the length a bit shorter, and the designer explained that cutting it that short might make the layers hard to see, so per her advice I decided to keep a bit more length.

What I liked about this was that she didn't just cut exactly what I said — instead she explained what would actually make the style I wanted look good. As a client, I'd rather have an expert explain the reasoning and recommend a better direction than just hear a plain "sure, I'll do that."

Before the cut, I got a shampoo first, and I liked the shampoo room. They covered me with a blanket, the room was a bit dim, and there was a curtain at the entrance, which made it feel a lot less exposed — I loved that.

While waiting with my hair rolled up, she brought me some snacks. And... they were surprisingly delicious haha. I came in for a haircut and ended up happily snacking too. She kept bringing snacks throughout the wait, and I enjoyed every bit! A little snack like that quietly makes the otherwise tedious treatment time much less boring.

After some time passed, it was finally done!

Checking out the finished style, I felt like it was a good call not to cut the length too short, just like the designer said during the consult. The layers showed through naturally, and with the C-curl added, the whole shape looked much more polished.

I'd originally wanted the length a bit shorter, but if I had done that, the layers probably wouldn't look as pretty as they do now — so I was glad I listened to her advice.

After it was finished, though, I mentioned I wanted the bangs a bit shorter, and she kindly trimmed them exactly as much as I wanted. I appreciated that she was accommodating even with this last-minute request.

This time I took before photos, mid-treatment shots, and after photos to compare, and having them side by side made it fun to see at a glance how much the style changed.

Overall, what stood out from this visit was that the staff were friendly, and during the consultation they didn't just do whatever I asked — they talked through the direction that would look best together with me. The salon itself was clean, the exterior had a nice vibe, and small conveniences like having a restroom inside and being given a blanket during the treatment were all things I appreciated.

Above all, not cutting the layered cut too short this time turned out to be the smartest move haha. I originally wanted it shorter, but in the end I was glad I went with the designer's opinion. If you're considering a layered cut with a C-curl perm, rather than just stating the length you want, it might be worth having a full consultation about your current hair condition and the style you're going for before deciding. I'd also recommend checking the salon's hours and appointment availability before visiting.
