👋🏻 Hi, this is Sorijang :) Today I visited From Italy, a great restaurant near Gwangneung Arboretum for a weekend drive.

This Italian restaurant is run directly by an owner-chef with 26 years of hotel experience, so it's known for guaranteed visuals and taste — a place with real atmosphere in Pocheon that I visit often.

What is From Italy, the Pocheon restaurant near Gwangneung Arboretum, like

From Italy is an Italian restaurant on Jugyeopsan-ro in Sohol-eup, Pocheon, near Gwangneung Arboretum. It's even prettier when the weather is bright like this, and it's been on the Blue Ribbon list continuously since opening,

a restaurant with European vibes that suits the lush greenery around it — so it also worked well as a date spot :)

A Pocheon restaurant where you can taste menus developed directly by an owner-chef who once headed R&D at a five-star hotel. The space is so beautifully decorated that it's a great pasta spot to visit for a bit of healing.

The parking lot is spacious so driving here is easy, but I heard it gets crowded with guests on weekends, so I'd recommend booking ahead.

Antique interior decor of From Italy

From Italy, a pasta restaurant in Pocheon, was fun to look around thanks to its antique interior and various props.

The vibe was a little different between the two floors — the first floor let you enjoy the outdoor garden view, while the second floor had a calmer mood with floor-to-ceiling windows showing thick trees, giving a refreshing feeling.

From Italy's menu has over 20 kinds of pasta alone

From Italy is famous as a pasta restaurant in Pocheon, and it had over 20 kinds of pasta alone.

There were many types you don't easily find elsewhere, plus a variety of other categories like salads, pizzas, and steaks, so it was fun just picking what to order.

The starter bread is squid ink ciabatta with balsamic

Before the main dishes come out, ciabatta and balsamic sauce are served — the savory ciabatta made with squid ink paired well with the tangy balsamic sauce,

and it was a starter that was neither too light nor too heavy, doing its job of whetting the appetite before the main course.

Drink enjoyed alongside the starter bread

While enjoying the starter bread and drinks first, next came From Italy's signature dish, striking from the visuals alone

Table spread with gebawi pasta and half-and-half pizza

the half-and-half pizza with arugula smoked salmon and blueberry, and the gebawi pasta, arrived at the table — this place has word-of-mouth as a date spot, so you could tell a lot of care went into the plating too.

Why it's better to keep the gebawi pasta at its default spice level

Gebawi pasta topped with puffed bread

The gebawi pasta, which I order every single time I visit, uses a puffed bread on top to represent a rocky shore (gebawi), and was loaded with various seafood.

Cream-based gebawi pasta seafood

The gebawi pasta lets you choose the spice level — since it's cream-based, if you're ordering pizza alongside like we did, I'd recommend keeping it at the default spice level,

Crispy fried crab on the gebawi pasta

and I recommend trying different combinations, pairing the crispy fried crab with the chewy, tender seafood.

The order to eat the arugula smoked salmon + blueberry half-and-half pizza

Half-and-half pizza made with thin squid ink dough

Usually ordering both a pasta and a pizza can feel like too much food, but From Italy uses a thin squid ink dough so it wasn't overwhelming.

Arugula smoked salmon and blueberry half-and-half pizza

Since I love arugula, I ordered the arugula smoked salmon and signature blueberry half-and-half,

and since the arugula is fresh and the blueberry is sweet, I'd recommend eating the blueberry side last.

Table enjoying both pasta and pizza together

The combination of the spicy gebawi pasta, the refreshing arugula smoked salmon, and the sweet blueberry blended together really well at From Italy, a restaurant near Gwangneung Arboretum — whatever you order here is a treat for the eyes and the mouth, so I recommend it!
