I was looking for a café between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station where I could have coffee and dessert together, and that's how I ended up at Something About Coffee (썸띵어바웃커피)! Today I'm recommending a spot that works for an office worker's lunchtime coffee break, a meetup with friends, or a date.
Where is Something About Coffee, and what are the hours?
Something About Coffee is at 30 Gangnam-daero 102-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and it's open from 11:00 to 22:30. It sits between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station.
Is there parking? What does the exterior look like?
Something About Coffee uses all three floors, from the 1st to the 3rd, and I'd recommend it as a place to take a break over dessert and coffee.

There's no parking lot, but it's between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station and close to a bus stop, so it's easy to get to.
What's the atmosphere on each floor?
1st floor: a spot made for mirror shots
The 1st floor has a huge mirror, so it's great for mirror shots~ When I visited last year there was a big tree on this floor too, and I remember it being a lovely backdrop for photos.

2nd floor: the order counter and dessert display
Climb the antique-style stairs to the 2nd floor and you'll find the order counter and the desserts on display.

The desserts are kept neatly in a case, so every time one is taken out it felt hygienic to choose.

The area where you pick your dessert is so pretty that each item felt like a work of art.

2nd floor: chandelier, group table and terrace
The 2nd floor has an eye-catching big chandelier, plus a large table that's perfect for a group coming in for tea.

Open the door to the terrace and a really pretty space unfolds, with a great mood for having dessert and tea.

Mornings are chilly, but the sun is lovely in the daytime, so a terrace tea in weather like this is just the best~

3rd floor: quiet antique mood and a two-seat terrace
Head up to the 3rd floor and you get an antique feel that's different from the 2nd floor.

If the 2nd floor feels right for chatting with friends, the 3rd floor has a quiet mood that's good for a date, wouldn't you say?

The 3rd-floor outdoor terrace has two-person seats too, which seems just right for a date ^^
What's on the menu and how much is it?
At Something About Coffee, an americano is ₩6,500, cream drinks are ₩7,500–8,500, and ades and teas are around ₩7,000–7,500. The menu comes in a Korean version and an English version.

How do the black sesame cream latte and fig fresh cream cake taste?
Today I ordered an iced americano, a black sesame cream latte, a fig fresh cream cake and an egg cookie.

After a good walk from Gangnam Station I was craving something cold, so I got the iced americano and the black sesame cream latte. The latte has that nutty flavor, and you get the taste of the drink and the texture of the cream together, so I really enjoyed it.

The fig fresh cream cake, packed with figs that are in season right now, was lovely too, with that distinctive fig texture and a gentle sweetness.
