Oat drink for busy mornings: Garu Seonsaeng Oat Drink
In short
Garu Seonsaeng Oat Drink is a powdered oat beverage from Korea that can be mixed with water or milk. I shook it up during my morning routine and found that it mixed smoothly without much chalkiness; I also adjusted the thickness and baked it into a cookie-like snack with chocolate protein powder.

While looking for a simple morning drink, I tried Garu Seonsaeng Oat Drink. I usually like the nutty flavor of oatmeal and soy milk, so I was curious about this powdered oat drink that I could mix whenever I needed it.

Was the powdered oat drink easy to store?
The ready-to-drink beverages I usually had took up refrigerator space, and I had to keep an eye on their expiration dates. Since this product comes in powder form, it was easy to store, and I could make only as much as I wanted each time. I was also pleased that the large-size container lasted longer than I expected.

How do Original and Unsweetened differ?
It comes in two varieties: Original and Unsweetened. Unsweetened is an unsweetened type made with only oats and sea salt, while Original contains unrefined raw sugar for a subtle sweetness.

I liked that it is made with whole oats, including the bran, and contains beta-glucan and dietary fiber. It was convenient because I could mix it with water or milk without soaking, blending, and straining oats myself.

I also liked that it has no emulsifiers, artificial flavorings, or preservatives, and that the ingredient list is relatively simple. To me, the nutty oat flavor came through cleanly.

How much did I add to water or milk?
The basic ratio is two included scoops for 150–180 ml of water or milk. Since I like it thick, I often added an extra scoop. On days when I wanted something lighter, I added more water to adjust the consistency.

Did it mix well and feel easy to drink on busy mornings?
While getting ready for work, I put water and the powder into a shaker bottle, shook it a few times, and drank it. The particles were fairly fine, so it mixed well without feeling lumpy, and it was not overly chalky.

It was convenient that I could make it right away in the morning without preparing it the night before, as I would overnight oats. I had it lightly on an empty stomach in the morning or as an afternoon snack, and I also liked the subtle nutty finish that lingered after drinking it.

Did I use it for snacks as well as drinks?
I made a dough with chocolate protein powder, Garu Seonsaeng Oat Drink, milk, egg, and a little salt.

I placed the dough on parchment paper, let it firm up briefly in the freezer, then baked it in an air fryer. It became an easy-to-eat, cookie-like snack, and the fine powder worked well for baking too.
