Last weekend we took a trip to Danyang for our youngest, who wanted to see fish at the aquarium^^ A cat-fishing... well, a mandarin fish (sogari) fishing contest happened to be going on in Danyang too! And what's the first thing you think of for a Danyang trip? Gugyeong Market, of course!

When we got to Danppang Bakery on Sunday afternoon, there were at least 40 people in line. Wow... even in the hot weather, nobody gave up and everyone waited it out... It really must be good😍 People were sweating buckets and still waiting...

Many people buying garlic bread at Danppang Bakery had ordered from Danyang Black Garlic Nurungji Dakgangjeong (단양흑마늘누룽지닭강정, crispy sweet-glazed fried chicken with scorched-rice crunch) across the street first, then got in line! It's a famous chicken place in Danyang, and they sell black garlic makgeolli (rice wine) too^^ I ordered chicken and then queued for garlic bread! Smelling that delicious garlic bread, I could hardly wait to eat...😭😭

The garlic bread at Danppang Bakery just keeps coming out, like a big bread factory! That's how many customers there are😭😭😭 Finally, my turn! I ordered two sets of 4 pieces: cream + black garlic cream cheese + sweet potato + baguette! I figured it's best to try a bit of everything! No regrets🤗👍
The staff member was so fast, packing at the speed of light! With this many customers, you clearly build up skill👍 Filling the bread with cream in a flash too💯

How do you reheat the Danyang garlic bread you take home?
For Danppang Bakery garlic bread you take home, heat it in an air fryer or oven at 165°C or higher for about 3 minutes and it's delicious^^👍👍👍👍👍 When I got home, I showered, had a glass of makgeolli, and tried the garlic bread.
It's made with Danyang's specialty six-clove garlic (yukjjok maneul), so the flavor was much deeper and sweeter than ordinary garlic bread😍😍

We had time to spare, so we played soccer at the Danyang paragliding landing spot! haha They're boys, so our two little ones (Jjuni and Jjuni) love playing with Dad❤️ At this age, Dad is the best^^ Next time, our family has to come back to Danyang and try the famous paragliding too!
One last thing I'm sure of: the bakery you must visit on a Danyang trip is Danppang Bakery! Danyang is famous for its beautiful scenery, but lately there are real-deal bakeries like this too, which makes travel even more fun. Danppang Bakery in particular is already a hot spot everyone's talking about, so you have to visit🤗
