Rainy-morning date café in Anseong: ham & cheese croissant, Chat Baker
In short
Chat Baker Brunch & Bakery Café is a large brunch and bakery café inside 512 Square in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, Gyeonggi. On a rainy weekend morning, two of us shared an iced Americano made with Ogamdo beans, a vanilla bean latte, a pizza ciabatta sandwich and four breads at a first-floor window seat at Chat Baker while jazz played. The flaky ham and cheese croissant was the best thing on the table, and Chat Baker is a date spot in Anseong worth recommending.

Chat Baker is a big bakery café and brunch café in Gongdo-eup, Anseong, so the range from brunch dishes to drinks is really wide!! For coffee, you can choose nutty beans, beans with some acidity, or decaf :)

And the bakery lineup is enough to make any bread lover's eyes spin >< There was such a huge variety that it took me forever to pick, haha.

Inside Chat Baker: a good date spot in Anseong?
Chat Baker is open and airy with high ceilings, so I recommend it as an Anseong date café. The atmosphere is honestly so good.

It was a rainy weekend morning, so we could eat and relax at a leisurely pace, which made it even better. The crowd was mixed too: families with kids, couples, and older folks.
Second-floor seating and bread-warming station
Go up the stairs at Chat Baker and you'll find more seats and tables on the second floor. There's a spot to warm up your bread, and both hot and cold water are available.
The second floor is bigger, with a variety of tables! There are tables good for working alone and tables for families or groups. The atmosphere is seriously great ><
A café with LPs and jazz playing
The owner must love jazz! Look at how many different LPs there are. Chat Baker holds a jazz performance once a month, and jazz plays from Bose speakers all around the café.

We sat at a first-floor window seat and enjoyed coffee and bread with the jazz >< I wondered if it was really raining that hard, but it turns out water runs down the windows on purpose, lol. Maybe that's why the mood felt even better ><
Our brunch order for two at Chat Baker
What we ordered at Chat Baker: an iced Americano, an iced vanilla bean latte, salt bread, sausage pizza bread, a ham and cheese croissant, mocha bread, and a pizza ciabatta sandwich.

Yes, this is brunch for two....lol The bread lover's eyes spun and we picked a bit of everything! They all look so delicious and tempting!

Ogamdo-bean Americano and vanilla bean latte
I had the iced Americano, and my companion had the iced vanilla bean latte.

As always, we chose the Ogamdo (오감도) beans: nutty, full-bodied, with dark chocolate notes :) The Americano at Chat Baker is really good!! Great bean choice ♥
The vanilla bean latte, made with house-made vanilla bean syrup, is classy from the aroma to the taste!! It's pretty sweet though, so with sweet breads I'd recommend the Americano.
Pizza ciabatta sandwich
Chat Baker's pizza ciabatta sandwich is perfect for me, a ciabatta lover and sandwich lover!

Soft, chewy ciabatta filled with bacon, tomato, lettuce and more. It's a great sandwich for a light meal.
Mocha bread, salt bread and sausage pizza bread
And these are the breads my companion and I picked to our own tastes.

Mocha bread: it reminded me of the Mocha Bun from the chain I always got tempted by the smell of back in my school days, and I hadn't had a mocha bun in ages.

The mocha streusel on top and the mocha cream spread inside are so fragrant and delicious!!!
Salt bread: Chat Baker is said to be a salt bread hotspot in Anseong, so this salt bread lover grabbed one right away! The butter cave (the hollow inside) was a little disappointing... but it was still crisp outside and chewy inside, a buttery bread.
Sausage pizza bread: this is exactly the nostalgic sausage pizza bread I used to buy as a kid. Sausage, onion and cheese, there's no way that tastes bad!
The best bite: Chat Baker's ham and cheese croissant
Ham and cheese croissant: take a good croissant and add ham and cheese... that's just pure happiness ♥

Chat Baker does croissants well. The cross-section shows nicely defined layers, it has a crisp bite, and there's plenty of ham and cheese, so this was my favorite!!
The two of us happily inhaled one sandwich and four breads >< We had a proper date on a rainy weekend morning in a relaxed, pretty café!
