Pyeongchon pho restaurant date, beef rib pho and parking: Pho Witch
In short
Pho Witch is a Vietnamese pho restaurant in the food alley of the Pyeongchon academy district in Anyang, Gyeonggi. On a date, the writer ordered the Hanoi king beef rib pho (18,000 won, with yangji brisket) and the Yeoljeong Siblings smoky pad thai (12,000 won), and enjoyed the clean-tasting ribs that slid off the bone and the generous pad thai portion. With parking in front of the shop, a rare find in the Pyeongchon academy district, and a spacious dining room, Pho Witch is an easy pick for both dates and group meals.

Where is Pho Witch in Pyeongchon, and can you park?
The Pyeongchon academy-street main branch of Pho Witch, a well-known pho spot in Anyang, sits in the food alley of the Pyeongchon academy district. The area is famous for being hard to park in, but you can park right in front of Pho Witch, so we had an easy trip. It's a great place for lunch~

Inside Pho Witch: good for dates and group meals?
The inside of Pho Witch is wide and pleasant, good for groups, family gatherings and dates. The space is roomy enough for big groups, and I hear it's popular for New Year's and year-end parties too.

We came for a date, and the place has a strong local Vietnam vibe, so it was perfect for that.
Pho Witch menu, prices and how to order
Here's the Pho Witch menu! Prices are reasonable and there's a wide variety, so there was plenty to choose from.

The signature spicy pho (eolkeun ssalguksu) is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so the heat is easy to handle, and it's just right as a hangover cure.

You order on the kiosk at each table, and you can join various events too, like the KakaoTalk channel add event or Naver coupon benefits!

Here's what we ordered~
- Hanoi king beef rib pho ₩18,000
- Yeoljeong Siblings smoky pad thai ₩12,000
Hanoi king beef rib pho: how many ribs come in the bowl?
The Hanoi king beef rib pho at Pho Witch comes with two whole, huge ribs! I love king rib pho, and I was happy that Pho Witch has all kinds of pho, not just the basic one.

They say all the ingredients and meat that go into the pho are trimmed in-house and simmered for a long time!

Thanks to that, the rib came off the bone easily and was simple to eat,

and it was chewy and tender with no gamey smell at all, so delicious 😋

Brisket or chadol: I chose brisket
For the Hanoi king beef rib pho you can choose between brisket (yangji) and chadol (thin-sliced beef brisket), and I went with brisket. I figured with the rib in there it wouldn't have any other meat, but it was loaded with brisket too, and it was nice and clean-tasting~
Under all that meat are bean sprouts and rice noodles~

The soft rice noodles and crunchy bean sprouts went together so well. Being pho, it also sat comfortably in my stomach afterward. The cool, clean broth is the kind you keep spooning up!!
Yeoljeong Siblings smoky pad thai: how big is the portion?
The Yeoljeong Siblings smoky pad thai at Pho Witch comes with a choice of noodles or rice, and after agonizing for a while I picked noodles~ The portion is huge, right?? Even big eaters will be satisfied 👍

It's packed with shrimp, pineapple, bacon and all kinds of vegetables, so the flavors and textures were varied~

The noodles, soaked in the spicy-sour sauce, were chewy and bouncy, so good 😋

Eating it with the fried onion flakes and crushed peanuts brought out the texture even more and was so tasty~

Dessert at Pho Witch and final thoughts
Even the dessert on the way out felt very Vietnamese! They had sugar-free candy by Xiao Keo Ra, a popular Vietnam souvenir these days~
Pho Witch, the Pyeongchon academy-street pho spot famous as an Anyang pho favorite, gets a big recommendation from me. The place is large, so it's good for group and family gatherings, and the atmosphere makes it a great date spot too.
- Hours: daily 11:00–21:00
- Parking, takeout, reservations and group seating available
- Local currency (mobile, card, paper) and the high oil price relief support fund accepted
