I had a meal at Deojinji Sutbul Galbi, Resom Baegun Branch, a little outside downtown Jecheon. This spot used to be the Bakdaljae rest stop along the old national highway, now reborn as a restaurant. They grill Damyang-style pork galbi (short ribs), beef galbi, and tteokgalbi (patty ribs) over charcoal and serve them ready to eat, so it was a comfortable place to visit with kids!
There's also a pickup service for Resom Forest guests, so it's a great pick for anyone searching for good restaurants near Resom Forest in Jecheon.

A space that's easy for family dinners: Deojinji
Walking into Deojinji, the atmosphere felt great for eating as a family. There's also a private room, so it's worth booking ahead whether you're bringing the kids, visiting with your parents, or want a quieter meal for a family occasion.
Why the Resom Forest pickup service is so convenient
There's one particular reason Deojinji is so convenient for people looking for good food near Resom Forest in Jecheon: the pickup service! They offer pickup for Resom Forest guests and spa users, as well as people staying at Bakdaljae Natural Recreation Forest and other nearby places.
When you're traveling and eating meat for dinner, sometimes you just want a drink, right? Being able to use a pickup service without worrying about driving makes it so much easier to have a light drink with dinner. When booking through Naver Reservation, you can even choose your pickup location and time, which makes things really convenient. Phone reservations work too, apparently.

Ordering Damyang-style pork galbi for two!
We ordered Damyang-style pork galbi for two. Since it comes out already grilled and ready to eat, it made for the easiest mealtime of our Jecheon trip with the kids.
The Deojinji table setting comes out generously loaded with side dishes. There was even seasoned crab and soy sauce crab. Neither had any fishy taste at all, honestly delicious! If you want more, you can add extra from the side menu, so eat as much as you like.
The meal comes with steamed rice included. If you like naengmyeon (cold noodles), you can swap for it as dessert noodles for an extra ₩4,000. It would feel incomplete to eat pork galbi without naengmyeon, right? Putting a sweet, charcoal-smoky piece of pork galbi on top of the noodles seems like it would go perfectly together. My kids don't really eat naengmyeon, so I had cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and rice instead, but next time I'm definitely switching to naengmyeon.

Any side dishes you run low on can be topped up at the self-service corner.

Pork galbi so tender the kids ate it right up
The pork galbi had the seasoning well soaked in and the meat was on the tender side. The meat clinging to the bone was also nicely chewy in a good way. The portion was generous, and thanks to the sweet seasoning, we finished a whole bowl of rice in no time. There's also a spicy version, so next time I want to try that too.
There are 2-person and 3-person set menus for even better value, making Deojinji a great choice near Resom Forest in Jecheon. The value for money is really good too. If you want beef galbi, check out the set menus!
What made it great to visit with kids
Since it comes out already grilled, everyone can start eating together, which made it feel perfect as a family dinner spot. Usually one person ends up stuck at the grill the whole time feeding the kids while the parents can't eat together. Here, you can start and finish the meal together while chatting, which makes it ideal for a Resom Forest area meal in Jecheon. It's also smoke-free, so it's good for visiting with young children. There are kids' chairs too.

If you join the receipt review event, you can even get a bag of ppeongtwigi (puffed rice snack), so give it a try!
