Sushi date night in Cheonan Buldang-dong with fried shrimp: Ganghan

I was craving sushi after a long while, so I searched for good places in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, and found Ganghan Sushi! The quality looked good, so I went straight there with my boyfriend. Here's my review of how tasty it was.

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch: hours and parking

Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is at 67-12 Buldang 21-ro, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam (Unit 111), and it's open daily 11:00-22:00. Last order is at 21:30, and there is no break time.

Parking is tight in Buldang-dong, but Ganghan Sushi's parking lot is big, so parking is easy. You can do takeout, dine-in or delivery. Eating alone is welcome too, so feel free to drop by.

Inside Ganghan Sushi on a weekday evening

The inside of Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch is cozy, with tables for 2 and 4. I went after 7pm on a weekday and there were still quite a lot of people eating.

Some people were dining solo. The atmosphere is nice, so I think anyone could eat here comfortably.

Ganghan Sushi menu and what the two of us ordered

This is the menu. As you'd expect from a sushi specialist, there's a wide variety, plus pork cutlet, rice bowls, à la carte sushi, side dishes and more. The quality and value are not bad at all.

We ordered the Ganghan sushi 12P + cold soba (buckwheat noodles) + 5 fried shrimp + 10 takoyaki (octopus balls).

They're running a review event too, so keep that in mind!

Ginger and soy sauce are on the table, so you can take as much as you like.

The Ganghan Sushi 12P comes with mini udon and a croquette

Our order came out in about 10 minutes. The Ganghan sushi 12P comes with mini udon and a croquette like this. The kimchi was aged kimchi (mukeunji), and it was totally my taste!

The aged kimchi went really well with the sushi. The udon was mini fish cake udon, and the croquette was crispy and yummy too. They're included in the set, which is so nice..!! This is why people say the value is good.

What's in the Ganghan Sushi 12P and how it tastes

The 12P came with a variety of sushi: fried tofu pouch (yubu), spear squid, salmon, tuna, shrimp, egg and more. It was ready in under 10 minutes after ordering, and it looked so neat that my mouth was already watering ><

The sushi quality was really good. It was just exactly what delicious sushi should be, haha. There was a nice variety: tofu pouch, spear squid, salmon, tuna, shrimp, egg and more. Overall it was soft and clean-tasting.

Personally, I liked the salmon sushi best. The soft salmon with onion and sauce was great. There's a reason it's popular as a Cheonan sushi spot!

How was the cold soba at Ganghan Sushi?

The cold soba came in a chilled broth in a generous portion. Cold soba is my favorite kind of noodle ><

It tastes just like the cold soba we all know. A must while eating sushi!

Sides: 5 fried shrimp and 10 takoyaki

The fried shrimp I ordered as a side came with dipping sauce and 5 crispy shrimp.

Eating in the restaurant, we could enjoy the crunch just as it should be. The shrimp were bigger than I expected..! Dipped in the sauce, they're really good. I enjoyed the crispy fried shrimp, haha.

Last was the takoyaki. I ordered 10 pieces. They came out right away, so my mouth was full of heat when I ate one, lol.

Loaded with sauce and lots and lots of bonito flakes (katsuobushi), and piping hot and delicious. I really enjoyed the takoyaki.

Is Ganghan Sushi Cheonan Buldang Branch worth it for a date?

I kept ordering whatever I felt like eating, and the table ended up overflowing, haha. And all of it was delicious!! As a sushi specialist, the sushi was great, and I enjoyed the cold soba and mini udon too.

The takoyaki and fried shrimp are side dishes, but they were good too. The owner and staff were kind, which made it a perfect place. If you're looking for good sushi in Buldang-dong, Cheonan, I recommend Ganghan Sushi.
