Sinnonhyeon Korean BBQ team dinner, pork belly to fried rice: Sansol

I was craving pork belly around Sinnonhyeon and went looking for somewhere new, so this time I visited Sansol Sinnonhyeon :) At a Korean BBQ place you can just eat meat and leave, but I always feel like something's missing unless I finish with a proper meal menu too.

So this time I ordered:

• 🍜 red snow crab ramyeon
• 🍚 kkakdugi (radish kimchi) fried rice

The main dish for the day was of course the Sansol aged pork belly!

There are so many pork belly places around Sinnonhyeon that it's hard to decide where to go, but this time I wanted to try aged pork belly, so I picked Sansol. I liked that the staff grilled the meat for us themselves.

One thing that's kind of a hassle at BBQ places is that you're too busy grilling to focus on the conversation. Especially in a group, one person often ends up stuck manning the grill — so having the staff grill it for us made it much easier for everyone to just chat while eating.

So if you're looking for pork belly in Sinnonhyeon and want a place without the hassle of grilling yourself, this is worth keeping in mind.

The pork belly and red snow crab ramyeon combo

Just meat felt like it wasn't quite enough, so I also ordered the red snow crab ramyeon. When you're eating meat, having a soupy dish on the table always tempts you back in.

With red snow crab in it, it was a bit different from a typical BBQ-place ramyeon, and it was easy to share if you're visiting with a group. It was a great menu to add when you're eating pork belly and suddenly want something warm and soupy.

And you can't pass up fried rice at a BBQ place, haha. We finished off with kkakdugi fried rice. Eating it as the final course after the meat was just right.

With kkakdugi mixed in, it had a different feel from what we ate alongside the meat, so if you're going with a group, it would be worth ordering one at the end to share.

That day we went in the order of aged pork belly → red snow crab ramyeon → kkakdugi fried rice, wrapping up everything from meat to a full meal in one sitting :)
