Is Chammak's 600g makchang set enough for two?
At Chammak Isu Station Branch we had the 600g set made up of makchang only for ₩36,000, and it was a quantity that left two people properly full. Before the makchang arrived, the side dishes and corn cheese were set out first.

The basic sides included ssamjang (seasoned dipping paste), Cheongyang chili peppers, garlic, spring onion salad, cabbage and more.

The corn cheese came out before the makchang. I was so hungry that just looking at it made my mouth water, haha.

Ours was the makchang-only set. At 600g for ₩36,000, it was an amount that two people could eat until properly full.
What's on the Chammak self-serve bar?
The self-serve bar has eggplant, sweet pumpkin and enoki mushrooms to grill alongside the makchang, plus ssamjang, kimchi, various sauces, pickled radish wraps and pickled onions.

The self-serve bar is well stocked too, with eggplant, sweet pumpkin, enoki mushrooms and more to grill with the makchang.

There's ssamjang and kimchi for wraps, and the sauces were well prepared too.

With pickled radish wraps, pickled onions and more, the self-serve bar was neatly laid out and easy to grab from, which I liked.
Grilling the pre-grilled makchang, and how it tastes
The makchang at Chammak Isu Station Branch comes pre-grilled, so you just brown it on the grill. It was golden outside, chewy inside, and not too tough.

The makchang arrives pre-grilled, so you put it on the grill and cook it until golden. We grilled it together with the mushrooms and eggplant I brought from the self-serve bar.

The portion was really generous, enough to leave two of us full, and the nutty aroma that rose off the makchang whetted the appetite. I liked the texture, golden outside and chewy inside. It wasn't too tough, and the nutty flavor came through the more I chewed, so makchang fans should be satisfied here.

The corn cheese was nicely done too, with the cheese melted golden, and eating it with the makchang was a treat. We cleaned the whole plate.
Free ramyeon at Chammak Isu Station Branch
Chammak Isu Station Branch lets you have ramyeon for free, in several kinds such as Yeolramyeon, Jin Ramyeon and Samyang Ramyeon. You can cook it right at your table.

The ramyeon here is free too, with a choice of Yeolramyeon, Jin Ramyeon, Samyang Ramyeon and more. Ramyeon cooked right at your table is really good... I was going to skip the noodles and just have the broth to cut back on flour, but it was so good that I ended up eating a lot of ramyeon... which is a bit of a shame, but I enjoyed every bite, haha.
Verdict: is Chammak Isu Station Branch worth it?
Overall, Chammak Isu Station Branch was a satisfying place, with generous portions for the price and a good self-serve bar. It's a good makchang spot near Isu Station for a day when you want to eat your fill of makchang at an easy price.
