Today I'm sharing a review of Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch (머노까머나 신촌점), a place that has been loved in Sinchon for a long time.

I like curry in general, so every now and then I crave Indian curry. This time I ordered the A-set (for 2) with a friend.

To get straight to the point: the portions were really generous, and I could enjoy that signature Indian curry spice without it feeling overwhelming, so it was a satisfying meal. If you're looking for something different to eat in Sinchon, it's worth a visit.
Where is Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch?
Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch is an Indian restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building on Yeonse-ro 11-gil, within walking distance of Sinchon Station. It's close to Yonsei University, so students and office workers alike come here.

It has been serving Indian food in Sinchon for a long time, with a variety of curries, naan and tandoori dishes.

It's on the 2nd floor, so you walk up the stairs. The exotic mood starts right at the entrance, and I felt like I was on a trip before the meal even began.
What is the atmosphere like at Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch?
The restaurant is decorated with Indian-style accessories and warm lighting, more comfortable than flashy. The first things you notice when you walk in are those accessories and the warm lighting.

Because it's comfortable rather than flashy, it's good for a meal with friends, and I thought it would suit a date too.

The tables are spaced well, so we didn't bump into the next table, and it was easy to chat while eating.

Best of all, a faint scent of spices fills the room, and it really felt like being in a restaurant in India.

What comes with the 2-person A-set at Meno Kamena?
The 2-person A-set at Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch includes salad, tandoori chicken (or chicken tikka), curry, naan, rice and lassi. It was much more generous than I expected. We ordered the 2-person A-set.

With salad, tandoori chicken (or chicken tikka), curry, naan, rice and lassi all included, it was a really ample spread for two.

Even with just one set, the table filled up in no time. I also liked that this setup lets you taste several dishes at once.

If you're new to Indian food, I think ordering a set menu lets you enjoy it without any pressure.

Fresh naan is the best, as always!
The naan in the A-set came freshly baked, warm and chewy. Naan is something you can't skip when eating Indian curry.

The freshly baked naan was warm and chewy. Dipped generously in curry, it went together perfectly. I usually like bread, and I could have happily kept eating just the naan.

Eaten with curry, the flavor doubled and I kept reaching for more.
Is the curry at Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch very spicy?
The curry at Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch keeps the signature spice flavor of Indian curry, but it wasn't strong enough to be overwhelming. The curry was definitely what I liked best.

It had that spice flavor that's clearly different from ordinary Japanese-style curry. It wasn't too spicy to handle; it was pleasantly exotic, which actually made it easy to eat.
The curry's thickness was just right, and it went well with both naan and rice, so I never got tired of it and enjoyed it to the end.
I think people who love Indian curry will be satisfied, and it's a decent entry-level taste for first-timers too. Being able to choose from many kinds of curry was another plus.
The tandoori chicken and lassi that came with it
The tandoori chicken in the A-set was fragrant on the outside and moist inside. It was impressive too.

The outside was nicely grilled and smelled great, and the inside was moist, not dry at all.

Curry alone can get a little heavy, but eating tandoori chicken in between was a really good combination.

Finally, drinking the lassi left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed.
Verdict: how is Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch for Indian curry in Sinchon?
If you want Indian curry in Sinchon, Meno Kamena Sinchon Branch should be a satisfying choice. These five things stayed with me most.
- A generous 2-person set
- The appealing spice flavor typical of Indian curry
- Curry that goes well with chewy naan
- An interior with an exotic atmosphere
- A space that suits both get-togethers with friends and dates
I'd recommend it to people who already love Indian curry, and also to anyone who wants a different kind of meal. Next time I'd definitely like to try other curries like butter chicken curry or palak paneer.
