In short

Waxing Lounge Sindorim Branch is a waxing salon on the 1st floor of Sindorim Techno Mart in Sindorim, Seoul, known for low-irritation waxing that is offered even to pregnant clients. The writer, who has sensitive skin, compared several salons before booking a Brazilian wax at Waxing Lounge, which included wax chosen for her skin type, low-temperature wax, 3-step sterilization and a soothing cooling pack, and her redness settled faster than after previous waxes. If sensitive skin has kept you from booking a Brazilian wax, Waxing Lounge's process from consultation to aftercare is worth a look.

Sensitive skin and a Brazilian wax: where should you go?

Every time I get a Brazilian wax, skin irritation is what worries me most. My skin is quite sensitive, and I've had redness that lingered and even breakouts after treatments.

So this time, instead of just picking the nearest place, I compared several salons on consultation, hygiene and even the wax they use before choosing where to go.

What I learned while comparing is that three things matter: whether the salon does gentle, low-irritation waxing mild enough for pregnant clients, whether hygiene is systematic, and whether care can be tailored to your skin condition.

After weighing all of that, the place I visited was Waxing Lounge (왁싱라운지) in Sindorim.

Waxing Lounge location: getting there from Sindorim Station

Waxing Lounge is a 3-minute walk from Exits 3 and 4 of Sindorim Station, and it's on the 1st floor of Sindorim Techno Mart, so it was easy to find. The underground connecting passage also makes it easy to get there whatever the weather.

How does the consultation before treatment work?

When I arrived for my appointment, the staff first checked my skin condition and hair type carefully. They didn't just start the treatment; they asked about my skin's condition and my usual care habits, then explained in detail which approach would suit me, so I trusted them from the consultation onward.

It was even more reassuring to hear that the practitioner holds a national skincare certification and a Level 1 certification as a pregnancy waxing specialist. I was impressed by the explanation that even for Brazilian waxing, hair type and skin differ from client to client, so the approach changes accordingly. Checking my skin first and explaining based on that really showed their expertise.

Wax chosen to match your skin type

The Brazilian wax at Waxing Lounge uses different wax depending on your skin type. They said they stock many kinds of premium wax, from products usable on sensitive skin to ones suited to breakout care, and they chose one that fit my skin.

They explained that they use waxes for sensitive skin such as Starpil Starsoft, and others like calendula wax depending on skin condition. I also liked that they use premium waxes from several countries as the situation calls for.

Photo related to skin-less, low-temperature waxing

Skin-less method and low-temperature wax: was it painful or hot?

Another thing that stood out was the skin-less method, which adjusts skin tension to reduce irritation. The treatment was done in a way that protects the skin as much as possible, so the whole thing felt low-stress.

They also use low-temperature wax, so it hardly felt hot, and it was comfortable when it touched the skin. They were quick yet thorough, and I was very satisfied. Overall it felt like an approach built to go easy on the skin.

How is the hygiene at Waxing Lounge?

Seeing the hygiene in person, I understood why so many people care about it. Tools are managed with a 3-step professional sterilization system, and they explained the process as follows.

  • Step 1: ultrasonic cleaning removes fine contaminants
  • Step 2: Barbicide disinfection for hygiene
  • Step 3: dry-heat sterilization keeps tools sterile

I could also see with my own eyes that sheets, towels, skirts and even pillow covers are all disposable and thrown away right after treatment, which was even more reassuring. I liked being able to relax in a private space too.

Before visiting I'd also checked that the salon was rated top-grade for hygiene by Guro-gu in 2019 and 2025, and seeing the upkeep in person made it easy to trust. Because the hygiene was visible, I trusted it even more.

Soothing care and aftercare guidance after the treatment

After the treatment, they carefully soothed my skin with a cooling pack. They used an EWG green-grade pack to calm the skin, and went through aftercare such as ingrown-hair care and whitening in detail, so I definitely felt looked after.

Compared with waxing I've had before, the redness right after didn't last long and my skin felt like it calmed down quickly, which I was happy about. What stayed with me most is that the whole process is systematic, not just the treatment but the consultation, hygiene and aftercare.

I heard they've been named an excellent business in a consumer industry evaluation four years in a row, and after visiting I could understand the reason, at least somewhat. I was very satisfied overall and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
