Healthy takeout near Konkuk Station: salmon pasta protein box, Y-Stave

In short

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk is a salad and protein box shop 320m from exit 3 of Konkuk University Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. For a daughter who won't give up pasta or dressing, the writer ordered the salmon pasta protein box (12,900 won) with yuzu dressing and no onion flakes around 8pm, kept it in the fridge overnight and ate it cold the next day — the pasta still had a good bite and the yuzu scent suited the grilled salmon. With a long list of menus and toppings you can add or leave out, Y-Stave Diet Konkuk suits anyone bored of eating the same diet meal every day.

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk

My daughter's been on a diet while working out, so I was looking for a good diet lunchbox or poke place for her. She had conditions though!! She said she couldn't give up pasta and dressing, haha. I guess she's gotten tired of what we usually buy near home. So I found this place!! Y-Stave Diet Konkuk.

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk protein box menu and prices

At Y-Stave Diet Konkuk, the protein boxes start at chicken 8.9k, smoked duck 9.9k, beef 12.9k, salmon 11.9k, mala 10.9k. Slightly cheaper than the places we used to buy from!!

She said salads have too many vegetables and she doesn't like brown rice in poke bowls, so she was looking for something with pasta and found this — oh, this place looks good, I thought.

What matters is how good and hearty the ingredients are!! So I decided to just go check it out. I needed something for the next day's meal, so I went out to Konkuk University Station around 8pm to pick up takeout.

Where Y-Stave Diet Konkuk is and where to park near Konkuk University Station

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk is at 141 Neungdong-ro, 102-ho, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, South Korea, 320m from exit 3 of Konkuk University Station, with a parking lot beside the building. It's open daily 10am–10pm, with a break time from 3pm to 4pm, and last order at 9:30pm. Delivery and takeout are also available.

You can walk there from Konkuk University Station. I used to come here often before I moved, and if the parking lot had existed back then, I would've used this place a lot. Since it was evening, I worried parking might be tough, so I parked elsewhere, but once I got there I saw it would've been fine.

I almost never bring a car when I come to the Konkuk area, but it seems fine to drive here too!! Still, just in case, I'd recommend checking the parking situation before you visit.

Bar table for solo diners, with Wi-Fi

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk has a bar table with 4 chairs as well as regular tables, so it seems comfortable whether you're eating alone or with a group.

When you're on a diet, there are times you have to eat alone. My daughter walked in and said there's Wi-Fi too, this would be great for solo dining, haha.

Ordering at the Toss kiosk, even from outside the shop

Orders are placed through a Toss payment kiosk, and Y-Stave Diet Konkuk lets you order from outside the store too!! When it's crowded that seems really convenient.

I find this way easier. Adding and removing toppings takes a while when picking a menu, and I prefer taking my time outside rather than doing it inside the store.

The staff were really kind, not the type to make you feel rushed at all, but at my age I sometimes press the wrong thing on kiosks or payment machines and feel embarrassed. No need to ask the owner or staff for help, and neither side feels awkward — perfect for introverts!!

Plenty of sauces, and toppings you can add or skip

Y-Stave Diet Konkuk had a wide variety of menu and topping options. It's a place for people who are tired of eating similar meals every day and are looking for something new. The main menu options are varied too. You can combine different sauces and toppings.

Even with the same main, you can eat it differently each time, so you won't get bored, right?

The salmon pasta protein box, 12,900 won

What we ordered was the salmon protein box with pasta noodles, ₩12,900. It comes with grilled salmon, pasta noodles, bell pepper, broccoli, green beans, chickpeas, and olives.

For sauce, we went with yuzu dressing and left out the onion flakes. She wanted to add extra toppings but I told her to hold off, haha. When we unpacked it at home it looked so neat and clean I wanted to eat it myself. But I had to let her have it.

How the salmon pasta box tasted cold the next day

We resealed the salmon pasta protein box at home, kept it in the fridge, and ate it the next day — it was still good. She actually prefers cold food to hot food anyway, so she said this place was great, hahaha.

I asked if the yuzu dressing wasn't too sweet, and she said she'd worried about that too but it turned out to be less sweet than expected, so I stole a bite or two myself, haha. The pasta was cooked well, and the refreshing yuzu aroma went really well with the grilled salmon — I wanted more but... I held back, haha.

It would've been even better to eat it at the restaurant, but since it was for the next day's meal, I took it to go — so I have to head back again, haha. I'm curious about the other sauces too, and since it held up fine eaten cold, what I really want to know is whether you can buy a few days' worth of meals in advance. I think I'll need to ask directly how many days it can be stored.

Honestly, I really want to try the salmon tofu-noodle protein box myself, haha. I'll ask about storage while buying that one. If you're looking for salad near Konkuk Station or a diet meal spot in the Konkuk area with lots of menu choices, this place is worth a visit. Mission accomplished for our household!
