Ttukseom hair salon: volume magic for an awkward bob at Onzon Hair

I'd only just cut my hair into a bob, and the dreaded "beggar zone" (that awkward stage where your hair sticks out everywhere) had already arrived..!! Before it got any worse, I went to the Ttukseom Station hair salon "Onzon Hair Seongsu" to get it sorted.

Where is Onzon Hair Seongsu, and what are its hours?

Onzon Hair Seongsu is right outside Exit 5 of Ttukseom Station! Totally next to the station, haha. It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:30–20:00, and closed on Mondays.

You also get a discount if you book through Naver! Good to know~ haha. Another thing I liked: when you can't decide what style to get, you can browse lots of styles on Onzon Hair Seongsu's Naver page~ That made choosing much easier.

I liked how clean the place looked even before going in. Even on a weekday, all three designers had clients, so it seems really popular.

Isn't the inside really tidy? It's bigger than I expected, so it feels airy~ I loved that there wasn't a single hair on the floor and the hair dryer cords were neatly organized!

There's a waiting area too, so you can wait comfortably :) There are outlets and Wi-Fi as well, so I could use my phone during the treatment and never got bored!

You can store your belongings in a cabinet.

Bob "beggar zone": which treatment was recommended?

When I said I wanted a natural bob perm for my beggar-zone hair, the designer at Onzon Hair Seongsu recommended a volume magic. Below is before the cut. You can feel the beggar zone, right? Shaggy hair,, an in-between length, and even though it's definitely short, it somehow looks heavy and stuffy ㅠㅠ

I showed a reference design and said I wanted a natural bob perm, and she said volume magic would suit it, haha. It was my first volume magic, so I was half excited, half nervous.

What was the volume magic process like?

The volume magic went in this order: shampoo, applying the solution, rinsing it out with a light cut, rolling with a straightening iron, then a final shampoo and blow-dry. I'd arrived with hairspray in my hair, so I washed it and got all the spray thoroughly removed first.

For women, a perm basically takes 2 hours, right? Onzon Hair Seongsu brings you drinks and snacks, so I wasn't hungry or bored, which was nice.

She's carefully applying the solution!! I liked that my designer made conversation so easy, haha. TMI: thanks to her, I found out about a delicious hotpot place. Saved it right away, lol

After rinsing the solution out again and a light cut, she carefully rolls the hair with the straightening iron. It was my first time with this, and it's different from a regular perm, so it was fascinating!

I turn into a triangle gimbap (rice triangle)... It's funny, but to be pretty you have to be funny!!

The shampoo area is really clean too~ Finally, I washed my hair and had it blow-dried, and then...

Bob volume magic result and how long it took

The volume magic at Onzon Hair Seongsu took about 2 hours 30 minutes, and my shaggy bob turned into a natural curl. Ta-da! Doesn't it look so neat?!! The shagginess is gone, and the curl looks natural, so I love it, haha.

A bob is really hard to maintain, but thanks to my designer I can live with a silky bob for a while! Thank you, haha. For reference, mine took about 2 hours 30 minutes~ If you're looking for a Ttukseom Station hair salon, I recommend "Onzon Hair Seongsu"!!
