Today I visited Nahonsha, where you can enjoy neat, perfect shabu-shabu near Hapjeong Station whether you come alone or with friends or your partner~ If you love clean, fresh shabu-shabu, this is definitely somewhere to keep an eye on!
Isn't the restaurant so pretty?? A pretty entrance lifts your mood before you even step inside.

Nahonsha’s location between Hapjeong and Sangsu stations
Nahonsha, a great shabu-shabu spot near Hapjeong Station, sits between Hapjeong and Sangsu stations. Walk about 5–7 minutes from Hapjeong Station and its cute little sign will greet you, so it is easy to find. Just note that it is regularly closed every Sunday~

Comfortable seating for solo meals and groups
The first things that impressed me when I stepped inside were the cleanliness and stylish interior. There are plenty of bar-style seats, so solo diners can eat comfortably without feeling self-conscious. It is Nahonsha—“I shabu-shabu alone,” after all, haha. There really were lots of people dining alone.

There are also neat two- and four-person tables. I had worried there might be only single seats, but sitting side by side rather than across from each other was actually even nicer, you know? haha. The overall wood-toned space felt calming, and it was airy and comfortable without the steaminess or stuffiness typical of shabu-shabu restaurants.

Nahonsha’s individual induction burners and pots
- A one-person induction-burner system that lets you adjust the heat to your taste and enjoy your meal slowly
- A hygienic, tidy-feeling meal cooked in your own individual pot
- A substantial shabu-shabu set with meat, fresh vegetables, and kalguksu noodles

Ordering the clear-broth shabu-shabu
I ordered the signature clear-broth shabu-shabu. They also have spicy shabu-shabu and mala shabu-shabu, so I loved having lots of flavor options!!

Unlimited refills of three sauces
The special sauces really boost the flavor! The standard sauce lineup was generous too: chili sauce, peanut sauce, and soy sauce. I love dipping into chili and peanut sauce together, so I think I refilled the sauces set on every table three times without feeling self-conscious, haha. Alternating between the different sauces made every last bite feel varied and satisfying.
Clear-broth shabu-shabu setup and how to cook it
Here is the basic setup for Nahonsha’s clear-broth shabu-shabu near Hapjeong Station.

First, they recommend bringing the broth to a boil at heat level 5.

The generous tray came piled with bean sprouts, napa cabbage, bok choy, assorted mushrooms, kabocha squash, and more. There was not a single wilted bit; they looked so plump and fresh you could see it. And the heart of shabu-shabu is meat, of course! Nahonsha’s bright-red meat was tender and soft, with no unpleasant smell.

Once I filled the clear broth with vegetables and cooked them, the broth developed a gentle, deep flavor that made me feel warm right through.

Once everything is cooked, simply dip it in whichever sauce you like. It was light and so delicious~

Lightly cooked meat and finishing kalguksu
I dipped the meat briefly into the clear broth and lifted it out as soon as the redness disappeared. The more I chewed, the more its clean, nutty juices filled my mouth. Since the meat quality was so good, it was never dry, and wrapping it with the vegetables was an absolutely perfect pairing.

After finishing all the meat and vegetables, I dropped kalguksu (knife-cut wheat noodles) into the richly developed broth!! Unlike other kalguksu, these noodles were thin and chewy, so the broth soaked right in. Slurping the noodles with that deepened broth was simply the best. It was a hearty, perfect meal~ I am 200% coming back to Nahonsha.
