Now that the weather is getting cooler, I don't want to head straight home after a meal. I'd rather sit with a cup of coffee and rest a bit longer, haha. When we pick a meeting spot, I always look up which cafés are nearby first. Today's pick is Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, a café near Daeheung Station. Because of "Gongdeok Branch" in the name, you might only search around Gongdeok Station, but you can also walk here from Daeheung Station.

If you're looking for a café near Gyeongui Line Forest Park (Gyeongui-seon Sup-gil), it could fit nicely into a meal or walking route!
How to get to Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch from Daeheung Station
The address is 9 Baekbeom-ro 24-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor. It's about a 5–6 minute walk from Daeheung Station Exit 3, so it's easy enough to reach by public transport. When I search for cafés I look at the atmosphere, but I also always check how far I'd have to walk from the meeting spot.

You're going for coffee after a meal, so it's a shame to get worn out on the way, haha. If you're looking for a café to visit after eating near Daeheung Station, it's a good one to save on your map together with your restaurant. It's inside an alley, so if it's your first time, I recommend using a map app to find it. And check the opening hours and days off in your map app on the day you go!
Ieo Coffee Roasters coffee menu: what I chose
Besides americano and flat white, the menu at Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch lists things like a Spanish latte and an Einspänner (espresso topped with cream). There's always that café dilemma, isn't there? A clean americano, a smooth latte, or try something you don't usually drink, haha.
With choices like these, it would be fun to pick different drinks from whoever you're with. Coffee lovers can check their taste with a familiar menu item, and on days you crave something sweeter, you can look at the other options.

What I ordered was Ieo Coffee Roasters' signature almond latte and a grapefruit apple tea. When I read café reviews, I find posts that say how sweet and strong a drink is more helpful than just "it's delicious." Even the same coffee suits people differently, so comparing it with the style you usually like seems to lower your chance of a miss, haha.
What desserts does Ieo Coffee Roasters have?
Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch also lists desserts such as Basque cheesecake. You only meant to have coffee, but then you see the dessert menu and start deliberating again. It's not just me, right? Even after a meal, having something sweet next to your coffee just feels nicer.

Quite a few people come alone and enjoy some quiet thinking time at the café.

What I ordered: almond latte, grapefruit herbal tea and an egg tart

That said, the dessert types and how many are left can differ depending on when you visit, so check the display case and menu that day. If you like rich desserts, it's fun to pick one to go with your coffee, and if you had a hearty meal, a drink alone is fine too. When I plan to have dessert, I pick a less sweet drink. How do you pair yours? haha
A Daeheung Station route: meal, café, then Gyeongui Line Forest Park
If you're meeting at Daeheung Station, you could plan it as "a meal nearby → coffee at Ieo Coffee Roasters → a walk along Gyeongui Line Forest Park." When looking for a café near Daeheung Station, it helps to see what else you can do around it too!

Or the other way around: walk Gyeongui Line Forest Park first, then stop at the café to rest. You don't have to do anything special; the time spent walking, sipping coffee and chatting about this and that somehow stays in your memory.
If you've been looking for a café around Daeheung Station and Gongdeok, add Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch to your candidates. Before you go, check whether it's open and which menu items you want!
If you could pick just one cup at a café, americano or latte? Mine changes depending on whether I'm having dessert, haha. If you've been to Ieo Coffee Roasters, tell me your favorite menu item in the comments. I'd like to refer to it next time I order :)
