I was craving a craft burger so badly after a long while! While searching for good spots in Yongridan-gil, I found Bass Burger Sinyongsan, a place I used to love, so I went! I also have a tip for eating it even more deliciously, so stick around to the end, haha. Let's start the review!

What is the atmosphere and seating like?

The inside of Bass Burger Sinyongsan has a modern, clean look that doesn't feel like a typical burger joint. There was also plenty of room between seats!

There's also a separate terrace seating area at the back.

You order easily from the machine at each table. The menu is pretty big, so someone indecisive like me needed a lot of time, and it was nice to pick without feeling rushed, haha.

Unlimited potato chips with individually packed sauces

And Bass Burger's biggest strength: the potato chips are unlimited!

For dipping, there are ketchup and mayonnaise. They used to come in big Heinz bottles, but now they're hygienically packed individually! 👍

After ordering my burger, I grabbed chips first too! They're kept warm, so they were extra crispy and delicious. Salty enough to be perfect beer snacks! I finished a whole plate before the burgers even came, haha.

Swapping the set side and drink for Bass Lager

Both burger sets we ordered came out at once. There were so many options that I wanted to try a variety! So one set stayed as standard, and for the other I swapped the fries for chili mozza bars and the soda for Bass lager! The lager went down smooth and cold, and it was delicious. On a hot summer day it tasted like an oasis..!

Sometimes I want a craft burger rather than a franchise burger. I think it's because of the moist, buttery-smelling bun, the juicy patty and the fresh vegetables!

My boyfriend wanted these, so we ordered the chili mozza bars! Look at that cheese pull, amazing, right?! The savory cheese stick topped with sweet and spicy chili sauce is addictive and goes down so easily 😃

Mushroom Burger with two whole fried shiitake mushrooms

I ordered the Mushroom Burger! It has two whole fried shiitake mushrooms inside, so it's incredibly thick.

The meaty aroma of the fresh patty, the cheese and the vegetables were already perfectly balanced, and adding the whole fried shiitake gave a deep mushroom aroma that gently wrapped around my whole mouth and lifted the flavor.

The fried shiitake has a thin, crispy outside while the inside keeps its chewy mushroom texture, so it was delicious. If you like mushrooms, definitely try it!

Potato chips inside the Double Bacon Cheeseburger: the 'Cheondwae Burger'

This is the Double Bacon Cheeseburger my boyfriend ordered! It has two patties and two slices of cheese, with just bacon and sauce. A truly meaty, American-style burger! And here comes the tip for eating it deliciously!

You add the unlimited chips and ketchup inside! My boyfriend actually came up with this method, and he calls it the "Cheondwae Burger," short for "genius pig burger".. hahaha.

I stole a bite, and I totally agree!!! The crispy chips make the texture richer and tastier!! If you want to feel the ultimate in intense flavor, I recommend eating it this way!

Is Bass Burger Sinyongsan worth it? Final verdict

My first visit to Bass Burger Sinyongsan in a while! The juicy patty and soft bun were still a great match, and it was a really satisfying meal 😋 The Mushroom Burger with whole shiitake, with its crispy and chewy textures, is something I especially recommend to mushroom lovers! Unlimited crispy chips with a glass of beer were great too. (And don't forget the little tip of tucking a few chips into your burger, haha!)
