Seokchon Lake pizza restaurant with Lotte Tower views: Pizza Face Off

Pizza Face Off Seokchon Lake Branch is a pizza restaurant with an outdoor terrace at the entrance of the Songni-dan-gil alley, by the east side of Seokchon Lake in Songpa, Seoul. On a Friday evening the writer took a terrace table facing the Lotte Tower night view and ordered the signature Face Off pizza, mushroom cream pasta and Cass draft beer, then followed the owner's tip of piling the pasta on top of a pizza slice. The pasta portion felt a little small, but the freshly baked pizza and cold beer made for a satisfying night out.

Garak Market sashimi dine-in with extra tuna: Yeongjae Susan

Yeongjae Susan is a sashimi shop on the 1st floor of the sales building at Garak Mall, next to Garak Market Station in Songpa, Seoul. The writer ordered the small min-nong-gwang-cham-hoe (a sashimi platter of croaker, sea bass, flounder and sea bream) with in-season fall croaker and sea bass, added 20,000 won worth of tuna sashimi, and ate it at a linked market restaurant for a table charge of 10,000 won per person including spicy fish stew; the request for thicker slices was honoured exactly. Comparing the textures of four white fish was the highlight at Yeongjae Susan, and the fish stew broth was finished to the last drop.
