A solid spot to head to when you can't decide which café to go to near Gangnam Station ☕

Today I'm sharing my review of Something About Coffee, which I visited near Gangnam Station +_+!! There are so many cafés around Gangnam Station, but honestly a lot of them are either way too cramped or too crowded to relax in once you actually walk in.

When I have plans near Gangnam Station, a pretty café matters, but I end up caring more about accessibility, how easy it is to grab a seat, and whether it's comfortable to talk for a while. Something About Coffee sits between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station and spans multiple floors, so it's a café worth keeping in mind for meetups near Gangnam Station. 🙌

Where is Something About Coffee? Between Gangnam and Sinnonhyeon stations

Something About Coffee is on Gangnam-daero 102-gil, walkable from Gangnam Station and also accessible from Sinnonhyeon Station, which made it easy to set as a meeting spot.

Since it's a large café using floors 1 through 3, there were relatively more seating options even in a busy area like Gangnam Station. It also sells coffee, lattes, and desserts, so it works well when friends have different tastes!!

What I liked most about Something About Coffee was how big the space actually is.

With the space split across floors 1 to 3, it felt less like everyone was crammed onto one floor and more like you could look around and find a seat at ease.

A lot of cafés around Gangnam Station have tables packed so close together you can hear every word from the next table over.

Because this place spreads across several floors, it felt a bit more comfortable to sit and talk with a friend or on a date.

It can get busy depending on the time of day, of course, but if you're looking for a big café near Gangnam Station, this is one worth adding to the list.

Something About Coffee menu: from coffee to sweeter drinks

The drink menu has coffee as well as lattes and sweeter options, so it seemed like a good pick for going with people who have different tastes.

That day I ordered two drinks: an iced americano for ₩6,500 and a matcha cream choco latte for ₩8,000.

With two drinks and two desserts, the total came to ₩28,300. Prices aren't exactly cheap for a café right in central Gangnam, but considering you get to sit in the space and enjoy both drinks and desserts, it felt like an average price range for a Gangnam Station café.

What the ₩8,000 matcha cream choco latte tastes like

With matcha + chocolate + cream right there in the name, this is a drink that'll catch the eye of anyone who likes sweet menu items, haha.

The slight bitterness of matcha combined with the sweetness of chocolate and the cream made it feel like a proper dessert drink, quite different from an americano.

If you're not a coffee person or you prefer sweeter drinks, this is a menu item worth picking.

Lemon Earl Grey financier, ₩4,000

I also ordered a lemon earl grey financier to have alongside the coffee.

With the citrusy brightness of lemon added to earl grey's signature aroma, it was lighter to eat than a regular butter-heavy financier. The size wasn't overwhelming either, so it's a good pick when you just want a simple dessert alongside a cup of coffee.

Lemon yogurt gateau, ₩9,800, with an iced americano

For cake, I went with the lemon yogurt gateau. At ₩9,800, it was a bit on the pricier side for a single slice.

Still, thanks to the lemon and yogurt combo, it had an overall refreshing feel, lighter than a heavy, very sweet cake, so it paired well with the americano.

Personally, the iced americano + lemon yogurt gateau combo was the pairing that worked best for me, haha.

Is Something About Coffee a good place to meet near Gangnam Station?

Overall, Something About Coffee felt less like a place you go for one specific menu item and more like the café that comes to mind when you want somewhere easy to get to near Gangnam Station.

The location is good, the space is sizeable, and you can order coffee, sweeter drinks, and dessert all together, so it works well for visiting with friends or as a date spot. If you don't want to spend forever searching for a café near Gangnam Station and want somewhere with a decent amount of space, this is worth checking out.

Being between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station made it easy to reach, and with the space split across floors 1 to 3, it felt comfortable to sit and talk with a friend or on a date without feeling cramped. Being able to choose from coffee, sweeter drinks, and desserts to suit your taste was also a plus.

There are so many café options near Gangnam Station that it can be surprisingly hard to find one with both a good location and enough space. In that case, Something About Coffee is less a spot for one specific dish and more a solid pick for all kinds of occasions — meeting friends, dates, or a coffee before or after a meal, haha ✨
