Ilsan Italian dinner date: crab risotto and diavolo pizza, Millepollie

I went to Millepollie, a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, for a date and dinner on Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil :) Parking on Bamlidan-gil is hard, but Millepollie has parking and a spacious interior, so I was really happy with it.

Where is Millepollie, and what are the hours and parking like?

Millepollie is at 1F, 7-23 Ilsan-ro 286beon-gil, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea, at the National Cancer Center intersection, across from the main gate of Jeongbal High School. It is open Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun 11:30-21:30, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00 and last orders at 14:20 and 20:50. You can use the building's parking lot.

Millepollie on Bamlidan-gil was already well known as a Western and Italian spot with a great atmosphere. I go to Bamlidan-gil fairly often and parking always stresses me out. I liked that Millepollie has space to park right in front. If that space is full, tell the staff and they will guide you, they said!!

What are the atmosphere and seating like inside Millepollie?

🏠 A calm, tidy interior and big tables for a comfortable meal!

The moment I walked into Millepollie I thought, wow, is there such a classy restaurant on Bamlidan-gil?! The calm, clean modern interior creates the perfect mood for a date or a get-together.

The tables themselves are huge and the seats are spaced far apart, so you can have a relaxed meal. The space is also divided with partitions to feel like rooms, so I think it would be great for group gatherings too.

The area set up inside the partitions feels calmer and quieter, so it might be worth reserving ahead or requesting it.

What is on the Millepollie menu?

The Millepollie menu has a wide range of Italian and Western dishes: lunch sets, tenderloin/striploin sets, T-bone sets, wine dining, plus salads, pizzas, pastas and risottos.

And so on: all kinds of salads, pizzas, pastas and risottos, a whole lot of Italian dishes!!!! We had a hard time choosing too, haha. Oh, and there's a wine menu too, so wine lovers take note. We had driven that day, so we had to settle for soft drinks T_T

What does the Grancchio risotto taste like?

🍕 Crab-packed Grancchio risotto and chewy diavolo

After we were seated and ordered, the bread 🥐 came out first.

The bread was fresh and piping hot, soft and plain in a good way, and perfect for gently calming a hungry stomach.

Millepollie's Grancchio risotto is a rosé sauce risotto with Korean-caught red crab meat. We really love risotto, so this time again we picked one risotto. The word "Grancchio" was unfamiliar at first, so I ordered after reading the description, and when I saw Korean red crab meat and rosé sauce I thought, this is a total killer combo?!! So we ordered it, haha.

The portion of risotto is really big, so it was just right to share with my boyfriend. It's topped with flying fish roe that you mix in, and you can see the thick crab meat right away!!

The rosé sauce and thick red crab meat went together sooo well, and the rice texture, soft outside and just slightly chewy inside, was perfect with every bite. It's a risotto where you can savor each grain in your mouth, which made it even tastier.

Is the diavolo pizza thin-crust?

Millepollie's diavolo pizza is a thin-crust pizza loaded with chorizo, mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. I was torn between pasta and pizza, but that day I wanted pizza more, and while reading the pizza descriptions I found the diavolo! The pizza looks amazing, right? I like pizza loaded with tomato sauce, and it was obviously full of it, so I loved that, haha.

It's generously topped with chorizo and mozzarella, and the fresh, slightly spicy tomato sauce deepens the flavor of the pizza.

I don't like very thick pizza, but the diavolo's thin dough kept a springy, chewy texture, and best of all I could eat a lot without feeling stuffed, haha. My stomach felt comfortable afterward too!!

When is a good time to visit Millepollie?

Millepollie is a Western restaurant on Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil with a great atmosphere and a varied menu, so it would also be good to visit with a group and share dishes. Come on an anniversary or a special day and have a lovely time!
