Gopchang hotpot restaurant by Suwon Station: Horangigul Timevillas
In short
Horangigul Timevillas Suwon is a gopchang (beef intestine) hotpot restaurant on the 3rd floor of Timevillas, the mall connected to Suwon Station in Gyeonggi. The hotpot ordered here came with both gopchang and daechang (large intestine) plus bean sprouts, cabbage, fish balls and tofu, packed so tightly it was hard to scoop with a ladle, and the deep spicy broth tasted like a hangover cure. Horangigul had no wait on a weekday visit, and risotto can be made in the leftover broth to finish.

Way back when I used to have appointments around Pyeongchon, Horangigul was the place I'd always eat at! It was SO famous as a Pyeongchon/Beomgye restaurant — anyone from Anyang knows it (Ansan people too, haha). Anyway, this time I was looking for somewhere to eat near Suwon Station and lo and behold, there's one here too?! There's a Horangigul at Suwon Station too, so I went digging through my memories of how good it was and paid a visit! Timevillas is connected to Suwon Station, so even in the hot summer I could walk straight in without seeing the sun, haha. You know how important that is in summer... It seems to connect underground from Suwon Station, so everyone find your way in carefully.
Where is Horangigul Timevillas Suwon, and where do you park?
Horangigul Timevillas Suwon is on the 3rd floor of Timevillas Suwon, at 134 Sehwa-ro, Gwonseon-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do. Since the restaurant is inside the building connected directly to Suwon Station, accessibility is amazing! If you're driving, parking is available inside the Timevillas building! The Timevillas parking lot is huge, so parking should be easy, haha.

Horangigul Timevillas Suwon Daily 10:30–22:00
These are the daily opening hours, and since it's located inside Timevillas, it seemed like a restaurant a lot of shoppers come to! It opens early too, so there's a wide window to visit! There's a lot of shopping to do at Suwon Station, so it'd be perfect to combine with a shopping trip!

Inside Horangigul: atmosphere and seating
Inside Horangigul Timevillas Suwon, the seating is mostly 4-person tables, but if you come in a group they'll set up tables together for you! There's space on both sides, so it was a bigger restaurant than I expected! The staff were all so kind too, haha.

Menu at Horangigul: gopchang hotpot, plus rice bowls at lunch
Horangigul's menu is mainly gopchang hotpot, but at lunch they also sell rice bowls! For the gopchang hotpot, there are options with gopchang and daechang each on their own, and one with both together! So many choices, so much deliberating~

We picked the gopchang hotpot with both gopchang and daechang! I went on a weekday so there was no wait, but on weekends it seems worth using CatchTable to wait for a table! At lunch there are rice bowls like gyudon and butadon, so having more options there was even better.

How does the gopchang hotpot taste?
The gopchang hotpot arrives~! It comes out in a piping hot stone pot, and it wasn't just heavy — there were so many vegetables in it, which I loved!

Look how many vegetables are packed in there! The fact that this gopchang hotpot dish also comes loaded with vegetables was really nice, haha.

I read the 'how to enjoy it best' sign next to the table carefully before digging in~ As it suggests, you can also order risotto after finishing everything, which sounds great if you come with a group! The hotpot alone is plenty, but the risotto seems like it'd be a whole new delicious experience, haha.

It was so packed with ingredients it was hard to even scoop with the ladle! The stone pot was completely full inside! If you like cooked vegetables, you'd love this — bean sprouts, cabbage, and all sorts of other vegetables packed in, so you get a huge dose of fiber! And the protein ingredients inside were seriously generous too!

Inside there was gopchang, daechang, and meat piled up, plus fish balls and tofu too, so the protein was completely covered — I felt full and satisfied the whole time after eating! Maybe because there were so many different ingredients inside, the broth was genuinely delicious. I saw people drinking alcohol alongside this, and it does seem like the kind of flavor that'd make a great drinking snack too, haha.

The broth was seriously, ridiculously rich, ugh. I think the real charm of gopchang hotpot is exactly this broth! Deep, rich, spicy broth that completely cures a hangover! If you mix rice into the broth, you'd polish off a whole bowl in no time!
Is Horangigul Timevillas Suwon worth a visit?
Horangigul is a famous restaurant for a reason! Revisiting this nostalgic favorite... Horangigul! Still just as delicious eating it again!! If you haven't tried gopchang hotpot before, you have to visit at least once~~!! My husband, who tried Horangigul for the first time, was won over too, haha. A flavor that Koreans can't help but love~!! I want to go back again, haha.
