Sanggu's Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal (상구네솥뚜껑삼겹살) Guui Branch is a cauldron-lid pork belly place that's famous as a Guui favorite. The meat is tasty, but soju and beer for ₩2,900 and draft beer for ₩1,900?! The value is overflowing 🥹

How to get to Sanggu's from Guui Station

Come out of Guui Station Exit 3 and keep walking toward the Pullman Hotel, and you'll spot it.

The inside has plenty of seats and some big-group tables too, so it looks good for a company dinner (hoesik) near Guui Station.

Sanggu's menu prices and what two people paid

A standard portion of meat is 200g, and most meats are ₩15,800 per portion. I couldn't photograph the menu 🥲 so I grabbed the Naver menu. Meat prices (outside the sets) are listed per 100g. For 200g, that's a really good price!

Table setup and the 12-kind wrap greens self-bar

Every table comes with bracken, kimchi and bean sprouts already set on the cauldron lid. It seems like the place gets crowded in the evening, so each table is prepared in advance.

Pickled onions are on the table too.

The crazy plus of this Guui favorite: you can take as many as 12 kinds of wrap greens from the self-bar, unlimited! Vegetables are so expensive these days, so isn't this super generous? 🥹

When I came back to the table with the greens, they had set up this shield to stop the oil from splattering!

We brought plenty: lettuce, perilla leaves, a vegetable whose name I don't know (my husband picked it), cucumber peppers and more.

Does Sanggu's grill the meat for you?

Yes, Sanggu's offers a grilling service, so the staff grill and cut the pork belly for you. And finally, the pork belly arrives 😍 It's hanwoo-quality Korean pork (hando), so it looks great too!

Just like this! Once they cut the perfectly cooked meat, all we have to do is eat. Me, writing this right now: ugh, that looks so good... *stomach growls*

How the fresh pork belly tastes, and the best wrap combos

I first tried a well-cooked piece with just salt, and the fat ratio was just right, rich and tasty 🤤

We have to eat lots of wrap greens!! So I got straight into making wraps, haha. Garlic and chili peppers are must-haves for Koreans, right?

Grilled kimchi with garlic is love too..

We kept making all kinds of wraps. Eating it this way isn't greasy at all, and the meat just keeps going down 😍

Sundubu yeol-ramyeon for 7,000 won as a drinking snack

We ordered the sundubu yeol-ramyeon (spicy soft tofu ramyeon, ₩7,000) as an extra because we ran short of drinking snacks. That spicy-looking look is no joke, right?

It's packed with soft tofu, so as a tofu lover I was happy, haha.

The broth is really spicy and the noodles are chewy, so it was a great snack with somaek (soju mixed with beer)!

Is Sanggu's worth it for pork belly near Guui Station?

Sanggu's Guui Branch is overflowing with value. Unlimited refills on 12 kinds of wrap greens, soju and beer at ₩2,900 and draft beer at ₩1,900, amazing prices 😍 Pork belly and soju lovers would faint here, right? haha

On top of that, the pork belly is good value and tasty, and there's even a grilling service! If you're looking for a Guui Station pork belly place, there's no reason not to go.
