Friends' Mixed Grill A and soju at a Dangsan Station BBQ: Chodaechang
In short
Chodaechang Dangsan Station (초대창 당산역점) is a gopchang and daechang (grilled beef intestine) BBQ restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building right outside Exits 11 and 12 of Dangsan Station in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. The writer and a friend ordered Mixed Grill A (daechang, teukyang premium tripe, makchang and heart, 640g, ₩66,000), added Hanwoo gopchang (₩21,000), and finished with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice soup, ₩7,000) and soju, while staff grilled the heart first, then the daechang and teukyang, then the makchang. Even as a picky offal eater, the writer was satisfied enough to want to return to Chodaechang Dangsan Station.

Do you like gopchang (grilled beef small intestine)? I'm actually a bit picky about offal, but Chodaechang Dangsan Station (초대창 당산역점) made me want to go back again 😋 Here's the Dangsan Station offal restaurant I visited with a friend.

Where is Chodaechang Dangsan Station, and what are the hours and parking?

Right by Exit 11 of Dangsan Station: super easy to find
Chodaechang is really just 1 minute from Exits 11 and 12 of Dangsan Station. You can see it the moment you come out of the station. It's on the 2nd floor, and the entrance is right there when you go up.
What are the atmosphere and seating like?
The interior is modern with warm lighting, the tables are well spaced, and there's group seating too. The mood was just right when I opened the door. It suits the sizzle of meat on the grill, haha.
The tables are spaced generously, so we could eat without being bothered by the next table, and with group seating it looks perfect for company dinners or get-togethers!

What two friends ordered, and the prices

- Mixed Grill A: ₩66,000 (daechang + teukyang + makchang + heart, 640g)
- Doenjang sulbap (soybean-paste rice): ₩7,000
- Hanwoo gopchang: ₩21,000 (extra!)
- 1 bottle of soju

Mixed Grill A vs. B: what's the difference?
Mixed Grill A is a 640g set with four cuts at once: daechang (large intestine), teukyang (special tripe), makchang (abomasum) and heart. Mixed Grill B is 510g without the heart, so if you want more variety, I recommend A!

The dipping sauce is a soy sauce with chili peppers in it!
Do the staff grill it for you?
Yes, the staff grill the mixed grill for you, controlling the heat as they go. That's a big point. They started with the heart.

The meat comes pre-seasoned, so if I'd grilled it myself it would 100% have burned, lol. Since the staff grill it so it doesn't burn, even first-timers can relax and enjoy it 😊

After the heart: daechang and teukyang, then makchang
After the chewy heart, they grill the daechang and teukyang.

Shishito peppers get grilled along with it~~ and the daechang is so plump, haha!

Once they cut up the daechang and teukyang, they flip it around a bit more, and then you dip it in the soy sauce!

See how the smoke gets sucked right up!

When they separate the evenly cooked daechang and teukyang for you, you dig in happily~~ The daechang has rich, savory fat! The teukyang has a springy, chewy texture!

And then they grill the makchang.

Delicious combo... a happy assortment! It goes great with soju.

Is Mixed Grill A enough for two?
For us, Mixed Grill A alone for two people felt a little short, so we added one serving of a Hanwoo (Korean beef) dish. What we added was one serving of Hanwoo daechang BBQ!

It comes out with vegetables like this!

Full of gop (the creamy fat inside),, a happy bite!

Does Chodaechang's doenjang sulbap go with soju?
The doenjang sulbap (₩7,000) at Chodaechang Dangsan Station was the last thing we ordered, and surprisingly it went really well with soju.

Honestly I didn't expect much from the sulbap, but with soju, why does it go so well together?? lol The savory, salty doenjang aroma really grounds your mouth between the rich meat.
Chodaechang Dangsan Station prices and would I return?
- Price: ₩30,000–40,000 per person (based on the mixed grill)
- Recommended for: get-togethers with friends who love gopchang, dates, and company dinners
- Return visit: of course I'd go again! Next time I think I'll order daechang twice, haha
