Jamsil brunch café with Mom: truffle fries & onion rings at Que Sera
In short
Que Sera (쾌세라) is a brunch café in Jamsil, Songpa, Seoul, between Samjeon Station and Seokchon Lake, serving natural sourdough sandwiches and pasta. After two earlier dessert-only visits, the writer brought Mom to Que Sera for a truffle BLT open sandwich plate (17,900 won), a healthy shrimp oil pasta (19,000 won) and a green smoothie (7,000 won), and got onion rings through a receipt event. Verdict: Que Sera's truffle fries and green smoothie are good enough to order again next time.

I was looking for a brunch spot in Jamsil and ended up back at Que Sera after a while. It's actually not my first time. I'd already been twice before, but mostly for dessert. This time I went with my mom and had a proper meal, with pasta and an open sandwich.

Where is Que Sera and when is it open?
Que Sera is a brunch café 523 m from Samjeon Station Exit 2 toward the Jamsil Hakwon intersection, about a 10–15 minute walk from Seokchon Lake. It's open Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–17:00, with last order at 16:00. It's closed on Mondays, and you need to call to ask about parking.
It's a nice stop before or after a walk around Seokchon Lake, and on good-weather days they swing the big windows wide open, so it feels like an outdoor terrace. The desserts were good when I went before, so I came this time curious how the meals would be.

What is Que Sera, the Jamsil brunch café, like?
Que Sera is a Jamsil brunch café selling everything from sandwiches made with house-made natural sourdough to pasta, brunch plates and desserts. I'm told the name carries the meaning "things turn out the way you think." The brunch menu can be personally customized, so you can put your meal together to your taste, which I liked.

The space itself feels warm, and on a sunny day it's great for photos. I went with my mom, and she said she liked how cozy and comfortable it is.

The kitchen is open, so you can sort of see the food being made, and maybe because of that I trusted the food a little more.
Que Sera menu and how to order
Ordering was easy: you just scan the QR code on the table.

Mom and I ordered three items in total. (Check the menu board below for prices:)

Truffle BLT open sandwich plate with truffle fries, 17,900 won

Que Sera's truffle BLT open sandwich plate (₩17,900) comes with poached egg, bacon, avocado, tomato, carrot râpée (French-style shredded carrot salad) and truffle fries. It's not just one sandwich but several things to share, so it works well as a brunch order.
I especially loved the combination of the carrot râpée and the sauce. The carrot adds a nice texture to the sandwich and keeps the whole thing from feeling greasy. And the truffle fries? Insanely good;; The truffle aroma is subtle and the fries themselves are delicious, so I kept reaching for them. Mom and I were eating together and the fries vanished first, in no time.
Healthy shrimp oil pasta, 19,000 won
The second dish was the healthy shrimp oil pasta (₩19,000), an oil-based pasta loaded with Grana Padano, tomato, marinated shrimp, anchovy and roasted vegetables.

True to its name, it had a much wider variety of vegetables than a typical oil pasta. I especially liked the broccoli. With mushrooms and other roasted vegetables in there, you get more textures and flavors than with noodles alone. It has that clean, light oil-pasta taste, so it's easy to eat without feeling heavy. The menu description says it goes well with white wine, so once dinner service starts, I'd like to try it with a glass.
Green smoothie, 7,000 won: the top pick of the day
The thing I most want to recommend from this visit is the green smoothie (₩7,000).

It's a health juice made with banana, kale and lemon. At the first sip the banana was quite strong and I thought it was just a sweet banana smoothie. But after swallowing, the kale and lemon linger faintly at the back, and it turned out much fresher and tastier than I expected. Mom also said the green smoothie was the best thing we had that day. A health drink sounds like it would be a bit bland, but this one is tasty and goes well with brunch. I'd order it again next time.
Free onion rings from the Que Sera receipt event

I joined Que Sera's receipt event and got onion rings as a free extra. I didn't expect much, but they were pretty good too. Crispy outside, sweet onion inside, and I kept grabbing more. I really enjoyed the truffle fries, and after the onion rings too, I think Que Sera is quite good at fried food. Next time I'd like to try any other fried items they have.
Why Que Sera is even better on a sunny day
Que Sera opens its side windows wide depending on the weather, so the mood is even better on a nice day. With the windows open, you feel like you're on an outdoor terrace even though you're indoors.

The warm, sunlit atmosphere makes for good photos too. Shots taken in the front area of the café get the sunlight coming in and turn out pretty. So besides tasty brunch, it should suit people looking for a good photo spot.
Is Que Sera dog- and kid-friendly?
Que Sera is a brunch café that allows both dogs and toddlers. They have high chairs, so it looked fine for visiting with a child. The space feels relaxed and warm overall, so it seems good for families or for brunch with friends. They also say the whole space can be rented, so it could work for a small gathering or a special photo shoot.
Brunch by day, evening wine coming soon
Due to internal circumstances, Que Sera currently only operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., but they say they'll soon open in the evening too. In the evening it's planned as a space where you can enjoy wine and Spanish-style small plates alongside brunch dishes, which I'm looking forward to as well. Relaxed brunch by day, wine and Spanish-style snacks by night, so the mood should change a bit. Personally, I'd like to come back once evening service starts and have a meal with wine.
Que Sera's desserts are worth trying too
On my two earlier visits to Que Sera I came for dessert rather than meals, and I remember the desserts being pretty good. This time I came with Mom mostly for a meal, so we didn't get to dessert, but next time I'd like to do the full course: pasta and sandwich, then dessert.

Que Sera for a Seokchon Lake date
Que Sera is about 10–15 minutes on foot from Seokchon Lake, so it pairs well with a lake visit. You could walk around the lake and then have brunch, or eat at Que Sera first and stroll the lake afterward. On a nice day you can enjoy brunch leisurely in the space with the windows open, so spring or autumn seems like the best time to go.
If you're looking for brunch in Jamsil or a Seokchon Lake date course, it's worth a visit. I'd been twice already, but trying the meals this time gave a different impression. I'd order the truffle fries and the green smoothie again, and once evening service starts I plan to go back for the wine and Spanish-style snacks :)
