I always say I’m going on a diet, then somehow end up back with another restaurant review..... But what can I do when there’s so much delicious food in the world?

Today, it’s Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch (청운보쌈 당산점), a great bossam spot near Dangsan Station! I heard it’s also famous for its lunch specials, but we came for dinner. What tasty food would be waiting for us?! Let’s go with this truly satisfying review (❁´◡`❁)

Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch location

Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is five minutes from Exit 3 of Dangsan Station! It’s gathered among lots of great restaurants and bars~

We went around 7 p.m.? And it was already completely full!

But there are outdoor tables too, so I think sitting there would be nice. The weather has been so good lately~

This is how the indoor seating is set up~ I saw lots of people having group company dinners too!

so you need to check the tablet! The two of us ordered the small ogyeopsal bossam (five-layer pork belly) + spicy kalguksu set (₩40,000), plus Jipyeong makgeolli (rice wine, ₩6,000)!

Side dishes that went perfectly with bossam

These were the side dishes! Those bean sprouts were seriously so good, haha. The pickles were delicious too! Overall, they were side dishes that paired perfectly with the bossam~

I was so happy to see the Del Monte water bottle, only to find out it was a plastic bottle, hahaha.

Jipyeong makgeolli poured into a glass

As expected, the Jipyeong makgeolli came first, so I poured it right away~~~ Jipyeong makgeolli is always reliably delicious! It went perfectly with the bossam, and we enjoyed it so much~~

Here comes the bossam! For reference, it didn’t take that long to arrive! Maybe because it’s made with ogyeopsal, can you see how glossy with fat it is?

There’s napa cabbage and spicy Cheongyang chili seasoning too~~ I was so excited because I didn’t know how to eat it first >.<

Salted shrimp, ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste), and lettuce come with it too!

Adding bean sprouts was the tastiest way for me, haha. Honestly, it was delicious however I ate it~~~ The meat itself was so good that it melted in my mouth even on its own!

Bossam that looked beautiful and radiant no matter how many times I saw it... I love bossam, so I’ve gone out to eat it all over the place, but it’s hard to find a bossam restaurant this clean-tasting, without any porky smell or greasiness. Now I get why it was so crowded!!! I heard Cheongun Bossam uses whole gabrisal (pork jowl), rather than regular pork belly. Apparently, you can switch to pork neck too, so I should try that next time!

Spicy kalguksu with webfoot octopus topping

Next came the spicy kalguksu (knife-cut noodles)! Here, you can choose the topping for it. We chose webfoot octopus from the bossam, webfoot octopus, and tripe options! It was a generous portion even split between two people!

It had a light sprinkle of perilla seed powder, making it even nuttier! It’s called spicy kalguksu, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy~! It kind of felt like eating tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)? It would have been even better with rice mixed inㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

It was heavenly with the bossam! With the set, you can choose spicy kalguksu, makguksu, and more, but I especially recommend the spicy kalguksu~ It was a flavor you can’t get elsewhere!

A walk around Dangsan Station after the meal

After we finished, the weather was perfect for a walk! Since the Han River is near Dangsan Station, how about adding a Han River walking route to your visit~? Cheongun Bossam Dangsan Branch is a place where you can enjoy delicious bossam near Dangsan Station! I highly, highly recommend it~~~~
