Today I skipped the regular coffee and went for filter coffee instead.

Several types of beans were laid out in the store, so I could choose for myself. I went with Cameroon and Ethiopia. There were bean cards displayed separately, listing not just the bean names but also the flavor notes in easy-to-understand terms, which made choosing simple.

I love chestnuts, so I ordered it out of curiosity. It was much better than expected. At first I figured it was just a cheesecake with a little chestnut in it, but it turned out to have quite a lot of whole chestnuts inside.

I bit into whole chestnuts throughout, almost every bite. On top of that, the cheesecake itself was incredibly creamy and soft. The nutty, sweet chestnuts and the creamy Basque cheesecake went together far better than I expected.

Eating it with coffee brought out the nutty flavor even more, and personally, the chestnut Basque cheesecake was the most memorable thing I had that day. If you like chestnuts, this is worth trying — I'd happily order it again next time I visit.

Another reason I liked Ieo Coffee Roasters is that it's easy to visit alone. Some cafés make you feel a little self-conscious walking in solo, but here the atmosphere was comfortable for spending time alone over coffee.
