Dog-friendly Daeheung Station café with two hand-drip cups: Ieo Coffee

In short

Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch is a roastery café in the alley between Daeheung and Gongdeok stations in Mapo, Seoul, and pets are welcome inside. After a walk along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, the writer stopped in with her mom for a grapefruit apple tea and two hand-drip single origins, Colombia Villa Clara Watermelon and Ethiopia Sidama Bensa Hamasho G1. Both cups were clear in aroma and acidity without a heavy body, easy enough for hand-drip beginners, and the writer would return 100%.

Today I'm reviewing Ieo Coffee Roasters, a Gongdeok café near Daeheung Station that I stopped by after a walk along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park ☕️🌀 It's a stylish café tucked in the alley between Daeheung and Gongdeok stations, and it's a hand-drip spot that also allows dogs inside. Not only is the coffee great, but the owner also makes the desserts herself, so it's a really thoughtfully put-together space — I'd highly recommend it as a Gongdeok date course after a walk through the lush, green Gyeongui Line Forest Park ❣️

The vibe of the alley, the white-toned interior, and the plants scattered around were so pretty that I started snapping photos even before I stepped inside 🪴🌿

Inside Ieo Coffee Roasters: seating and atmosphere

I could already tell the owner had great taste from the exterior, but the inside was just as thoughtfully decorated. The color combinations were so pretty and just my style ・・・♡

The little props and illustrations scattered around the café were also cute and fun to look at. If you like cafés with this kind of vibe like I do, I'd recommend Ieo Coffee Roasters as a Daeheung Station café 💟

Bean lineup and dessert menu at Ieo Coffee Roasters

My mom and I really love hand-drip coffee, so we always make a point of seeking out hand-drip spots wherever we go! Ieo Coffee Roasters uses its own roasted beans for hand-drip, so I was really looking forward to it.

When I visited, there were four single-brew beans to choose from, which was nice. The lineup isn't fixed — the owner rotates in good beans regularly, so it's the kind of café where you can taste something different every time you visit.

For desserts, there was Basque cheesecake, lemon cake, cookies, and more. Not just the beans — even the syrups in the drinks and the desserts are all made by hand by the owner. The desserts looked so full of care and delicious.

What we ordered: two hand-drip single origins and a grapefruit apple tea

  • 1 iced grapefruit apple tea
  • 1 iced hand-drip single origin (Colombia Villa Clara Watermelon)
  • 1 hot hand-drip single origin (Ethiopia Sidama Bensa Hamasho G1)

We got a seat right up front where we could watch the owner brew the coffee herself haha! Watching her brew with such care made me even more excited (灬º‿º灬)♡

A glass of iced grapefruit apple tea

First, the grapefruit apple tea is a total summer drink 🍎 The bitterness of grapefruit blended with the sweetness of apple, not overly sweet and really refreshing — I loved it. It had a natural fruit flavor rather than an artificial one, so I'd especially recommend it on a hot summer day 🌱

And then the hand-drip I'd been looking forward to! Hand-drip can sometimes taste intimidating for beginners depending on the beans, but here there were plenty of casual, easy-drinking beans. The aroma and acidity notes were clear and distinct, but not heavy or dense in body, so it was coffee anyone could enjoy without feeling overwhelmed.

If you've only ever had americanos, I'd recommend using this place as your entry point into hand-drip coffee ❣️ Take your time reading the aroma, acidity, and body notes written on the card, and pick the bean closest to your taste 🩵

This owner really knows how to brew coffee!➰ Ieo Coffee Roasters is a certified hand-drip spot haha. I wanted to taste more hand-drip, so I ordered another cup with a different bean. Compared to the first coffee, this one felt silkier and smoother — a whole different kind of appeal 🫶🏻

A roasting machine tucked in one corner of the café

There was even a roasting machine tucked in one corner of the café. This is a place where the owner is genuinely serious about coffee haha. If you like hand-drip coffee, I really recommend Ieo Coffee Roasters.

Final verdict: a dog-friendly stop after a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk

If you're looking for a Gongdeok café where you can enjoy great coffee along with a stylish space, try Ieo Coffee Roasters near Gongdeok Station 💟 It's a roastery café that does hand-drip coffee cleanly and well, so if you're looking for a good coffee spot near Daeheung Station, this is it! What do you think about making it a stop after a walk along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park like I did 🌿 It's a warm café that also allows dogs inside, so it'd be lovely to stop by after walking your dog along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park 🐾🐾

The coffee was delicious, but honestly, the vibe of this café was really my style …🤍 It didn't feel like an overly styled, forced-aesthetic café — the owner's taste came through naturally in every corner, which made me like it even more. If it were near my house, I feel like I'd come here for coffee all the time, which made me a little jealous haha. 100% would come back 🫶🏻❣️
