What can you do alone indoors in Jamsil on a rainy day?
On a rainy weekday I went to One Play Jamsil Branch, the manga café that's supposedly a hot indoor date spot in Jamsil these days. It was raining, and I was itching to get out of the house.
Working quietly at home to the sound of rain is nice, but after a whole day indoors my head started to ache. I didn't feel like wandering around either... While trying to decide where to go on a rainy day, I landed on a Jamsil manga café. It's often recommended as an indoor date course in Seoul, so I was curious.
A place where I can rest without looking at my phone! A manga café was the first thing that came to mind for things to do in Jamsil. One Play Jamsil Branch is close to Jamsil Saenae Station.
How to enter One Play Jamsil Branch and what's on each floor
At One Play Jamsil Branch you change into indoor slippers on the 2nd floor and leave your shoe locker key at the counter.
On the stairs from the 2nd to the 3rd floor there was najeonchilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerware), and I wondered, huh? Does that fit here? What is this? So I snapped a photo. I guess it's the concept~ haha
The manga is on the 2nd floor. If you want to read, grab your books on the 2nd floor and take them up to the 3rd. If there's no room free on the 3rd floor, you can also enjoy them on the 2nd~ I went on a weekday, but there was still a wait around 5 p.m.
Is it easy to find the manga you want at One Play?
Before going I asked ChatGPT for manga I might like, but I couldn't figure out how the shelves at One Play Jamsil Branch are organized, so it was hard to find anything. I just grabbed whatever caught my eye.

The vibe in the 3rd-floor Nintendo and OTT rooms
The 3rd floor of One Play Jamsil Branch has rooms for Nintendo and watching OTT (streaming). When I got up there, kids were noisily playing games, and there was a smell of food too haha There are board games as well, but in my 3 hours there, most people were playing Nintendo.
It's fine alone, and the atmosphere would suit couples looking for a date spot near Jamsil Saenae, too.
The rooms at One Play Jamsil Branch are split into a lower and an upper level like this. Climbing to the upper one is a hassle, so I went with the lower~
Being such an introvert (I type), haha, I picked a corner room. Reading manga while watching the rain, so atmospheric~
The front of the room can be covered with a curtain. And if the room is messy after the previous guests leave, you can request cleaning.

At One Play Jamsil Branch you can use the weekday unlimited plan for ₩10,000. I was planning to stay about 3 hours anyway, so I paid for unlimited!
The manga I chose was Fighting Self-Taught (Ssaum Dokhak). I picked it to read mindlessly for 3 hours, and since it's the color edition, I never got bored.
How were the pork belly kimchi fried rice and hot dog?
At One Play Jamsil Branch I ordered pork belly kimchi fried rice (with added chicken), a hot dog and water, which came to about ₩16,000. I went in at 2 p.m. and ordered food first, and it took about 30 minutes to arrive.

Why you should bring a jacket to One Play Jamsil Branch
The air conditioning at One Play Jamsil Branch was strong and it was cold. It was raining that day so I deliberately wore a jacket, and I was still cold while reading, so if you feel the cold easily, bring a jacket~
A bite of hot dog, a page of Fighting Self-Taught~ I'm always working in front of a computer, so I really cooled my head down!
