Seoulsup Station dessert café, tree-view bar seat: fig soufflé at 5to7

I visited 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch (5to7 성수본점), a dessert café near Seoulsup. The fluffy soufflé is the star, but the coffee was great too. I recommend it as a café with a lovely atmosphere near Seoulsup! I had the fig soufflé, the 5to7 Einspänner (coffee topped with cream) and an iced Dutch americano together.

5to7 Seongsu Main Branch is a 3-minute walk from Exit 5 of Seoulsup Station. The café has no parking of its own, so if you drive, leave the car in a nearby public car park and walk over. 🚗

A red-brick exterior that looks like a converted house

The outside has the stylish feel of a renovated ordinary house. The red-brick building looked both modern and cool.

Inside 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch: seating and atmosphere

The inside was really spacious. The 1st floor has the counter and the kitchen where the soufflés are made, and if you go past the terrace and up to the 2nd floor, a big open space appears.

The interior is calm and atmospheric, with stylish wood tones. It's a Seongsu hot spot with couples on dates, friends getting together and people of all ages, and there were a lot of foreign guests too.

In particular, the bar table seats at the back of the café have a wide-open window, and right in front of it are leafy trees, so there was a cool breeze, a great view and just a wonderful mood.

What's on the menu at 5to7 Seongsu Main Branch?

The only dessert is soufflé. There are 4 kinds: fig soufflé, pearl crème brûlée soufflé, tiramisu soufflé and matcha soufflé, and it seems new items appear depending on seasonal fruit.

For coffee there are Dutch americano, moka pot americano, café latte, vanilla latte, Olé Grasse and the 5to7 Einspänner. Other drinks are listed below.

I had the fig soufflé, the 5to7 Einspänner and an iced Dutch americano together.

How does the fig soufflé taste?

The fig soufflé here comes piled high with figs. Figs are in their prime right now, and figs are a favorite of mine, so I couldn't walk past a soufflé topped with this many.

I heard the handmade soufflés here were invited to pop-up events in Tokyo and Hong Kong. The café has also reportedly been featured on TV programs like Saturday Is for Rice (토요일은 밥이 좋아), Live Today (생방송 투데이) and Live Tonight (생방송 오늘 저녁).

The soft, springy soufflé was even better when I dipped it in plenty of fresh cream, and it went really well with the sweet figs.

Signature coffee: the 5to7 Einspänner, where you crack the crème brûlée

The 5to7 Einspänner is the café's signature coffee, topped with crème brûlée. The coffee and cream blend beautifully into a rich, luxurious drink, and it was my first time seeing crème brûlée on top of a coffee.

I was told to crack the sugar coating with the wooden spoon, and right after I broke it, the drink was full of super nutty, smooth cream. The gentle coffee, milk and custard cream go together in a really luxurious way.

Does the iced Dutch americano go well with soufflé?

The iced Dutch americano is cold brew made from beans they roast themselves. It has a slight acidity but a clearly nutty flavor, a clean americano that's easy to pair with the sweet yet mild, refined soufflé.
