I visited Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong (미림양장 압구정점) because I wanted a nice Chinese meal in Apgujeong! This time, I tried a variety of dishes, from its signature Peking duck to duck fried rice and Hong Kong-style egg noodles.

Overall, the seasoning was not overpowering, yet the flavors were clear, so I was quite satisfied.

A Chinese meal spread without overpowering flavors

It is easy to assume Chinese food will be oily and heavily salty, but Mirim Yangjang's dishes were easygoing overall, so they seemed suitable for anyone of any age to enjoy comfortably.

Since it stays open late, it would be good not only for dinner but also when you are looking for somewhere to eat later in the evening.

The restaurant is on basement level 1, and the first thing I noticed upon entering was its quiet, calm atmosphere.

The quiet, calm interior of Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong

It was not overly noisy or chaotic, so it was lovely to talk with my companion and enjoy the meal slowly. The food itself also felt made for lingering over. It seems like a great atmosphere for a date in Apgujeong or a meal when catching up with a friend!

What we ordered

Ordered Peking duck, egg noodles, and fried rice
  • Half Peking duck ₩39,000
  • Half portion of Hong Kong-style egg noodles (Naver review event)
  • Duck fried rice ₩8,000
  • Cola ₩3,000

Can you order half a Peking duck?

Half Peking duck, ₩39,000. If you come to Mirim Yangjang, Peking duck is naturally the dish to look forward to most!

A whole duck can feel like too much, but there is a half-duck option, making it easy to enjoy alongside several other dishes. A half portion also seems just right for two people who want to order a bit of everything.

Half portion of Peking duck

The Peking duck had its distinct savory richness, but the seasoning was lighter than I expected. It went down easily from the very first bite. Dishes like Peking duck that are eaten with sauce can sometimes feel salty or intense, but Mirim Yangjang's flavors felt well balanced overall.

Peking duck with a clean, savory flavor

It was clean-tasting while still letting the duck's distinctive flavor come through, making it a dish to savor bite by bite. Personally, I think it would be a good choice for people who do not love heavily seasoned food or for a visit with older family members. That does not mean it was bland, though—it had just enough umami while highlighting the ingredients.

Hong Kong-style egg noodles with Peking duck

Half portion of Hong Kong-style egg noodles. We received these through a Naver review event. It was a good amount for a side, so it was perfect alongside the Peking duck.

After continuing with the Peking duck, having noodles in between made the meal feel much more varied. The egg noodles had their own texture and flavor, making them a nice change, and they were not excessively salty or intense either.

Even though we ordered several dishes, none of their flavors clashed too strongly. I personally thought the combination of Peking duck as the main dish with noodles and fried rice on the side worked very well.

Duck fried rice available with a duck order

Duck fried rice, ₩8,000. And the dish I would definitely encourage you to try with it is the duck fried rice!

Duck fried rice is available when you order a duck dish, and at ₩8,000, it is easy to add without much 부담. It is a really good pairing to order when you start craving a little carbohydrate after the Peking duck.

The fried rice was not oily or heavily seasoned either, which I liked. Chinese-style fried rice can sometimes become greasy or salty as you eat, but here I could enjoy it comfortably to the end. It paired beautifully with the Peking duck's flavor, so if you order the duck, I would recommend trying the duck fried rice too.

A Chinese food combination without heavy seasoning

Looking back at everything we tried that day, the best description would be Chinese food that is delicious without being heavily seasoned.

Rather than relying on bold seasoning, the dishes seemed to bring out the ingredients' flavors, so they felt less heavy afterward. I think people who usually avoid salty or strongly flavored food could enjoy them comfortably, while even people who think mild food lacks flavor would still find the balance delicious.

That is why I thought it was an Apgujeong Chinese restaurant that people of all ages could visit together. More than anything, I liked not just the food but the restaurant's atmosphere too.
