Gangnam fusion Italian restaurant: rose pasta at Eulji Darak

In short

Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park is a fusion Italian restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul. We shared Darak rose pasta, corn cream gnocchi, katsu sando, and a butter highball for 50,000 won before drinks. Verdict: cozy, tasty, and somewhere I’d happily revisit for a meetup.

I visited Eulji Darak (을지다락), which I absolutely love. Eulji Darak serves Italian-style food. Rather than strictly traditional Italian, it is fusion Italian perfectly suited to Korean tastes, which is why I visit often! I usually went to the original Euljiro branch, but since I had plans in Apgujeong this time, I visited Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park, a great restaurant near Dosan Park~

Basic Information

Location of Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park

First of all, Eulji Darak Apgujeong Dosan Park has an unbeatable location. It is right on Apgujeong’s main street, so it seems like a great spot for a satisfying meal and then a look around the neighborhood. ✅

On the way up to the second floor, there is a waiting area and parking information. For parking, you can use any nearby paid lot. They say they provide ₩3,000 toward the parking fee~!

And then, once you arrive on the second floor, there is this door! I actually thought that green door was the entrance and took a photo, but the bookshelf beside it was the entrance hahaha. It is definitely a concept that suits the attic theme.

At Eulji Darak, you place your order by shaking that bell. Hahaha. These days everything is done by kiosk, so this felt refreshingly fun and different haha.

I wanted to have all of Eulji Darak’s signatures, including Darak omurice and spicy crab risotto, but this time I ordered different dishes I had not tried before. We ordered Darak rose pasta, corn gnocchi, katsu sando, and a butter highball.

The interior was decorated so cozily and elegantly. These days, lots of people have pre-wedding gatherings in Apgujeong or Cheongdam, and I think Eulji Darak is worth considering for an Apgujeong pre-wedding gathering too.

Also, when I visited, there were quite a few tables with children, so it looked like a nice place to come with kids too!

What Did the Darak Rose Pasta Taste Like?

The first dish to arrive was the Darak rose pasta (₩19,000). The price is reasonable too, and can you see that cream on top? Haha, they give you a very generous amount~ The more cream, the better haha.

Now, once you shake-shake the cream in, it becomes rose pasta!

Mixing cream into Darak rose pasta

After mixing in the cream, it became a wonderfully thick and rich rose pasta. But it was not at all heavy or cloying. As you can see on the menu, it has a little spice, so it was a rose pasta that suited this Korean diner perfectly haha. I scraped up every last bit of sauce.

My First Corn Cream Gnocchi

Next was the corn cream gnocchi (₩19,000), which I had really been looking forward to. I have had plenty of cream gnocchi, but it was my first time trying corn gnocchi, so I was extra excited!

The gnocchi was pleasantly chewy, just as gnocchi should be, and the corn cream really retained that true corn aroma! Even I, someone who is not very good with rich food, enjoyed it so much.

They were generous with the cream here too, so I could dip the gnocchi generously in it.

Thick and Crispy Katsu Sando

Next was Eulji Darak’s signature katsu sando (₩12,000), a pork cutlet sandwich. You do see katsu sando quite often these days, but Eulji Darak was the place that made it trendy, right?!? And at ₩12,000, it is such a great-value spread haha.

The katsu was really plump? Totally thick and packed right in, and because it had just been fried, it was served wonderfully warm and crispy. The katsu sando is delicious on its own, but topping it with the coleslaw served alongside makes it taste refreshing.

The two of us ate this combination. First of all, the presentation passed with flying colors, and the portion left us perfectly full~ For two women, it might be a little much?!

I also ordered Eulji Darak’s signature butter highball, and I exclaimed that it was delicious from the very first sip because the cinnamon and butter aromas worked so well together! Haha
