Seogwipo seafood restaurant galchi-jorim set: Jejurowoon
In short
Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch is a seafood restaurant in Seogwipo, Jeju. I visited for a late lunch for two and ordered the A Set with braised hairtail, grilled tilefish, and pot-cooked rice. The braised hairtail was generous, but the crisp, easy-to-eat grilled tilefish stood out most.

I stopped by Jejurowoon Cheonghaewon Seongsan Ilchulbong Branch (제주로운청해원 성산일출봉점) for galchi-jorim (braised hairtail) in Jeju. The two of us visited for a late lunch and ordered the A Set for two, which let us have braised hairtail along with grilled tilefish and pot-cooked rice.

How were the menu and seats for a family visit?
Along with braised hairtail, the menu also had black pork duruchigi (spicy stir-fried pork). I do not usually eat Korean food often, so I welcomed having choices like this, and thought it could be a good place for lunch during a family trip.

Reservations were available, but the two of us went for a slightly late lunch and did not make one. Parking was available in front of the restaurant.

The interior was fairly neat, and most tables seated four. It looked suitable for groups, and the food came out quickly when I visited.

I was told that the ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab) served as a side dish could also be ordered for delivery. Jeju snacks were available to buy separately, too.

What comes with the A Set, and what is the minimum order?
There were four sets at the time of my visit, as well as individual dishes. All sets could be ordered for two or more, and I chose the A Set for two because I liked its selection.

The A Set came with basic side dishes, galchi-jorim, okdom-gui (grilled tilefish), sotbap (pot-cooked rice), and ganjang gejang. For the soup, I could choose either haumul ttukbaegi (seafood stew) or seongge miyeokguk (sea urchin seaweed soup). With so many dishes, the table felt quite full.

The side dishes gave me the feeling of a home-cooked meal, so I finished them all. They brought more when we ran out and said we could continue to ask for refills.

How were the sea urchin seaweed soup and grilled tilefish?
I chose sea urchin seaweed soup for the soup dish. It had plenty of sea urchin, and I liked its rich flavor.

Of the dishes that came with the set, I liked the grilled tilefish most. It had plenty of flesh, a crisp exterior, and bones that were easy to remove. I liked that it was included in the set rather than needing to order it separately.

The pot-cooked rice came with the meal as well. With the grilled fish, braised fish, and various side dishes, it was a filling meal.

How was the braised hairtail?
The galchi-jorim had a generous amount of hairtail, and the braised radish was delicious too. The seafood felt fresh as I ate it. I was satisfied that, while coming for braised hairtail, I could also enjoy grilled fish and soup.

What are the location and stated hours?
