Gangnam Station couple's dinner, three dishes for 47,500 won: Moa
In short
Moa Gangnam is a fusion Korean restaurant on the ground floor of the Geumseong Building on Teheran-ro 5-gil, near Gangnam Station in Seoul. The writer booked a 5pm slot on Naver for the moment break time ends and came with her husband for coconut shrimp salad (16,900 won), doenjang bulgogi arancini (15,800 won), gondre cream sujebi (14,800 won) and a bokbunja (black raspberry) ade. The clean wood-toned room suits a drink with dinner, and apart from sujebi closer to chewy rice cake than expected, Moa Gangnam is a 1000% return visit for a date or a group dinner.

🍽️ A fusion Korean spot near Gangnam Station that's great for group meetups 🍽️ Moa
Today I went to a fusion Korean restaurant near Gangnam Station that's perfect for meeting friends or going on a date. It reinterprets Korean dishes in a slightly different way, with a diverse menu and a nice atmosphere — I thought it would work well for work dinners or friend gatherings too. The place I visited was Moa Gangnam.
Where is Moa Gangnam, and what are its hours and parking?
Moa Gangnam is on the ground floor of the Geumseong Building at 31 Teheran-ro 5-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with a break time from 15:30 to 17:00.

A 5pm reservation at Moa Gangnam: arriving 15 minutes early, seated right at 5
I booked a 5pm reservation, right when break time ends, and visited Moa Gangnam with my husband. I arrived about 15 minutes early, but that didn't mean I could go straight in — reservation holders all get seated exactly at 5pm, so I waited a bit before going in. Walk-ins are possible too, but there tend to be a lot of reservations, so if you're planning to walk in, expect a wait. If you want to visit at a specific time like I did, I'd recommend making a Naver reservation!
What does Moa Gangnam look like inside?

One reason I want to recommend Moa as a Gangnam Station meetup spot is the interior. Fitting for a Korean restaurant, it's decorated cleanly with a lot of wood tones throughout. It felt warm but also polished overall, so it worked well as a date spot too.
It was also a great atmosphere for pairing Korean food with traditional liquor. When I visited, a lot of tables were drinking along with their meal, and they had not just regular alcohol but makgeolli and various other drinks too. It wasn't rowdy like a bar though — more like a nice Korean restaurant where you have a light drink alongside your meal, which I liked.
Moa Gangnam menu and prices, plus when to order

Moa has more signature dishes than I expected, so I spent a while agonizing over the menu, haha. They had rice dishes, noodle dishes, and lighter bite-sized options — quite a variety. After much deliberation, we ordered the coconut shrimp salad, doenjang bulgogi arancini, gondre cream sujebi (hand-torn dough soup), and a bokbunja (black raspberry) ade.
One ordering tip! Since we came in for a 5pm reservation, almost everyone with a reservation walked in at the same time. So if you order a bit late, orders can all pile up at once. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend deciding what you want while waiting and ordering the moment you sit down. Seriously, order as soon as you're seated!!
Coconut shrimp salad, 16,900 won

We started with the coconut shrimp salad. It's fresh vegetables topped with fried coconut shrimp. The dressing was tangy and went well with the vegetables, and it tasted even better with the crispy fried shrimp.

The shrimp themselves weren't huge, but the batter was so crispy it worked perfectly as a salad topping. I especially loved that tangy dressing. Even now I catch myself craving it, so if you like salads, it's a great light dish to add to your order, haha.
Doenjang bulgogi arancini, 15,800 won

Next was the dish I had the most fun eating — the doenjang bulgogi arancini. Arancini is an Italian dish of deep-fried rice balls, and here they added Korean-style doenjang (fermented soybean paste) and bulgogi to turn it into a fusion Korean dish. I didn't expect doenjang and arancini to work this well together.

Since I'd ordered it after reading the menu, I already knew what to expect, but my husband ate it without knowing anything. He took one bite and went, "Wait, this tastes like doenjang?" all surprised, haha. So I explained, "That's because it's fusion Korean food~" lol.
It was fried crispy on the outside with doenjang bulgogi inside, so it had that familiar Korean flavor. The portion of rice was bigger than expected too — enough that you might not even need to order a separate rice dish, so if you're ordering several things, the arancini alone would be pretty filling. I also ordered the gondre cream sujebi alongside it and tried dipping the arancini in the cream sauce, and that combo was pretty good too, haha.
Gondre cream sujebi, 14,800 won: a texture closer to chewy rice cake

If you like Korean food, sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) can't be skipped. But this was a completely different dish from the sujebi we usually think of.

If you usually like cream pasta, this might be worth ordering at least once. The base is close to a cream pasta, but instead of pasta noodles, it uses sujebi, plus gondre (mountain thistle greens) on top. So it tastes closer to Western food, but the sujebi and gondre still give it a Korean feel.
Personally though, there was one small letdown. I really love sujebi and was expecting the usual chewy, soft texture, but it was a bit different than expected. It was chewier, closer to milddeok (wheat rice cake) than sujebi, so eating it almost felt like eating cream tteokbokki at times. Still, it's not a dish you get to try often, so as a fusion Korean item it had a distinct character.
Why Moa Gangnam works for a date or group dinner near Gangnam Station
Moa Gangnam has such a varied menu that there were still plenty of dishes I didn't get to try this time. So I'd return 1000%, haha. This time I ordered based on what I wanted to eat, but next time I want to pick out other dishes and try them one by one.
Especially if you're meeting friends near Gangnam Station, going for a work dinner, or looking for a date spot, this place is worth considering for both the atmosphere and the menu. It would also suit anyone getting a bit tired of typical Korean food and looking for something with a fusion twist.
Also, there's an event where you get a free ade if you write a review after making a Naver reservation, so keep that in mind if you visit. Enjoying a refreshing ade alongside your meal like I did would be a nice touch too~ If you're looking for a good-vibe Korean restaurant near Gangnam Station for a date or group meetup, give Moa Gangnam a try :)
