A rich, savory butter smell fills the whole store. I got a little drunk on that pleasant buttery aroma while browsing the display case, and ended up ordering the best-value set!

Unboxing and taste: how strong is the mugwort flavor?

I unboxed it full of anticipation. The sticker was neatly sealed (obviously, but still) so it felt satisfying to be the one breaking it open first haha. This would really make a great gift.

Inside the soft, fluffy cake layers, there's 100% dairy whipped cream and a rich filling packed in without a single gap — I instantly understood why everyone walks out carrying bags in both hands. The mugwort flavor came through really strongly. Long live this Gwangjang Market spot.

I started with the signature mugwort choco pie, splitting it in half and taking a bite — the soft cake layers and melt-in-your-mouth cream combine beautifully. The fragrant, faintly bitter mugwort flavor balances so well with the sweetness of the thin dark chocolate coating on the outside. Such a great Gwangjang Market dessert spot.

Besides mugwort, there are six flavors total mixed in, including strawberry, chocolate, and injeolmi (sweet rice cake with soybean powder), so it's fun to pick one at a time. Leaving them at room temperature makes the cream soft and delicious, but popping them in the freezer for a bit and eating them half-frozen turns them into something like an ice cream sandwich — such a treat! ^ // ^) It was so good, phew.
