A quiet, art-inspired cocktail bar in Hapjeong
While looking for somewhere atmospheric and quiet to chat with a friend near Hapjeong, I heard about a cocktail bar inspired by works of art, so we went to check it out haha.

It felt like stepping into a little art gallery, and I was so pleased to sip such creative drinks in this antique-filled space!
Rosetta visitor information
Rosetta (로제타), also known as BAR ROSETTA, is on the first floor at 35 Eoulmadang-ro 5-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, near the Hapjeong-dong café street. It is open daily from 18:00 to 05:00, and dedicated parking is available, though you should ask before visiting!
Private hire and solo drinking are possible, and it also offers paid corkage for whisky or wine!
Fruit and cheese platter with art-inspired cocktails
Once seated, we chose the fruit and cheese platter for food and ordered two cocktails from the original signature line: Summer Sunlight and The Gleaners!

After ordering, lightly savory tofu crackers and water arrived first as complimentary snacks—just right for freshening up the palate haha.

The fruit and cheese platter (₩18,000) that followed was generously arranged with two kinds of seasonal fruit, including Hongcheon plums and Shine Muscat grapes, along with a variety of cheeses.

The bright fruit, cheese, and salty jamón made a totally perfect match for drinks!
Among the art-inspired cocktails, Summer Sunlight (₩21,000) is a 21% ABV drink blending yuzu, Korean pear, lemongrass, kefir yogurt, and carbonation, topped with a curled piece of gim bugak (crispy fried seaweed). It has such a distinctive look.

As instructed, I first bit into the gim bugak and then drank the cocktail. The seaweed melting in my mouth alongside the refreshing savory sparkle was such an unusual experience!
The Gleaners (₩22,000) is a dessert-style cocktail with a subtle earthy burdock base, soft cream made with cashews and soy milk, plus the nutty flavor of miso and black sesame.

The cocktail concepts were so unique and fun haha.
Wine service for my 24th birthday
It was actually my 24th birthday that day! My friend brought me a present and a cute tree-shaped candle to celebrate.
When the owner saw that, they gave us a French white wine from the Bordeaux region called Lillet Blanc on the house! Such kind explanations and such lovely wine too—I was so grateful.

And once again, thank you to my friend for preparing a gift for me!

Outdoor tables and a 19th-century French-style interior

With its red awning and antique lighting, the exterior has outdoor tables, making it a great Hongdae outdoor drinking spot for enjoying a drink in the breeze when the weather is cool!

Inside, burgundy-toned walls inspired by 19th-century France and paintings of famous artworks create the refined feeling of an art gallery.
The generously spaced bar tables are comfortable for drinking alone, while the plush sofa seating is perfect for an intimate time with friends.

There is also curtained half-room group seating for gatherings of up to nine people—so good!

Thanks to its calm, atmospheric interior, I recommend it as a popular spot around Hapjeong Station for drinks and a great night out!
A Hapjeong bar that was great for talking with a friend
I had such a satisfying time chatting with my friend while enjoying creative signature cocktails inspired by famous paintings and a neatly presented platter haha.

A little removed from the noisy main streets, it has a quiet, antique atmosphere where you can enjoy both the mood of a Hongdae outdoor bar and its indoor ambience.
