Songpa jazz bar for Sunday live music and carbonara: Allegro

A newly opened jazz bar on the third floor of Songridan-gil

After visiting a jazz bar in Gangnam last time, I just couldn’t get jazz bars out of my mind. So I looked up jazz bars in Jamsil that were closer to home, discovered there was one on Songridan-gil, and ran right over haha. It’s a totally brand-new bar that has only just opened 👍 I was so excited even before going.

Even the building itself has that fresh-new-building feel—it has style 🧡 I can’t believe a jazz bar like this opened on the Songridan-gil I visit so often!!

Allegro on Songridan-gil is in such a great location. I visited on Sunday and parked nearby. Everything was so close by, which made it a really convenient spot. I stop by Songridan-gil often, so I was so happy that a new jazz bar had opened here.

This is what it looked like when I visited early on Sunday. Maybe word hasn’t spread much yet since it has only just opened. I loved it because it was great for taking photos 🧡

I agonized over where to sit, then finally chose what was basically a one-and-a-half-person seat lol.

There are seats with a clear view of Lotte Tower too, and the atmosphere is absolutely insane.

There is outdoor seating, but it was raining on the day I went, so it wasn’t open. Just so you know, if you sit outside, you can’t fully enjoy the jazz bar experience. But you would get to enjoy the lovely weather completely, right?

The menu comes on a tablet with photos, which was a huge help when choosing.

From seafood salad to carbonara

The seafood salad came out first.

The colors alone were so pretty. As a salad with octopus, mussels, shrimp, vegetables, and more, it looked like such a great choice to order.

But it was genuinely fresh and delicious, so I think I’d order this again if I went back. Putting it on the bread that comes with it added a nutty flavor too. Its bright flavor went so well with the seafood, and I loved it right from the start.

Next, we ordered pasta—carbonara. It had been a while since I’d had carbonara, and this was the real deal, seriously delicious 🧡👍

With its thick egg-yolk cream and salty bacon, it was such a precious time enjoying truly excellent carbonara. Just amazing 🧡 It’s absolutely a great pasta spot!!

Pork steak served with fries

And then came the steak we ordered. It looked like the steak and fries were served together.

Since it was pork steak, they didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked; it arrived well-done. It was quite large and came with a delicious sauce, making it filling and tasty.

I especially loved the fatty parts. The chewy fat and lean meat were both delicious. Looking around, lots of people were having it with a glass of wine. The food was so good that it felt like the drinks would go down so easily too ☺️

A four-piece Sunday live set and date-night atmosphere

I went to the restroom during the performance, and it was so clean. Great songs were playing, so I was in such a good mood.

They even had a lovely scent and mouthwash available, so I’d say it is an essential stop on a date.

I visited on Sunday, and four people performed: piano, vocals, bass, and drums.

They performed mostly famous songs, and it was even more fun because I knew so many of them. The performance felt really full and perfect for a date.

I’m so happy that a jazz bar where you can enjoy such high-quality performances has opened in Jamsil’s Songridan-gil, and I think I’ll come here often for dates. The performance quality is excellent, of course, but Allegro stands out even more because the food itself is so delicious. I think it will soon become a go-to date spot on Songridan-gil 🧡
