In short
Morang Haemul Sotbap Jeongja Station branch is a Korean restaurant specializing in seafood sotbap (rice cooked to order in a pot), on the 2nd floor of Prugio City Phase 2 right by Jeongja Station in Seongnam. Two people had lunch there: octopus and scallop sotbap (16,000 won), eel sotbap (22,000 won) and a small chive pancake. It's so, so hot these days, ugh. But it's not the humid kind of hot yet, so I figured we could power through with a hearty energy-boosting meal! If you're looking for a health-food dish nobody has strong opinions about, how about a bowl of sotbap (pot rice)~?
Morang Haemul Sotbap Jeongja Station branch: how to get there from Jeongja Station
Morang Haemul Sotbap Jeongja Station branch (모랑해물솥밥 정자역점) is practically a stone's throw from Jeongja Station, on the 2nd floor of Prugio City Phase 2. I was hunting for lunch near Jeongja Station, wanted something clean and tidy, and the reviews were good, so off I went to hunt down some pot rice. It's so close that there was no getting cranky while searching for a restaurant in summer haha

From the main road, you take the escalator up. One to the left, one to the right, so two rides in total.. It's the 2nd floor, so why design it like this? Honestly just curious

Once you're up, it's next to a spa place (whatever its name was). My eyes are not what they used to be, so I looked around for ages..

What's the seating like for a group dinner near Jeongja Station?
Inside, it's way bigger than I expected, with tables for 2 and 4, group seating and even rooms, so you can sit however suits a company dinner or a family gathering. The interior feels carefully done and cozy..! It seems like soft lighting sets the mood. Nothing harsh, so it's easy on the eyes and the body (the older I get, the more I notice this kind of thing, wow)

3 cabin-style rooms, perfect for family gatherings
There are also 3 cabin-style rooms like this in the back, which looked great for family gatherings! A family was actually having one with little kids (there are high chairs)

A long group table for company dinners
They also have an even looooonger table. This one is just right for a company dinner, right? Just as I was thinking that, a group of couples came streaming in. They really read the room~

Parking is free for 3 hours
Parking is free for 3 hours too!!! It's a must for a company dinner or gathering, isn't it? Feel free to drive over without worrying~

What did we order? Octopus scallop sotbap, eel sotbap and a small chive pancake
The two of us ordered the octopus scallop sotbap (₩16,000) and the eel sotbap (₩22,000)! The reviews said everything is good, so we just picked what we were craving haha

And what I like about Morang is that they sell the chive pancake (buchujeon) in a smaller size?! Ordering 3 dishes for 2 people is what gives peace of mind, but it's the perfect menu item for us princesses on a diet who always end up leaving food behind. Definitely going back~~

How long does the sotbap take?
They start cooking the rice once your order goes in, so it takes about 15 minutes to come out..! The pancake comes out fast, so we ordered it too and munched on the crispy appetizer hehe

The sotbap comes with soup and side dishes. So many sides, I love it! The number of sides seems to differ slightly by dish. The octopus scallop sotbap came with seaweed (gim) for wrapping.

How does the eel sotbap taste?
The eel sotbap has cabbage and egg in the rice, topped with a generous amount of eel. The sauce is sweet, so it goes really well with salty side dishes or pickled ginger on top, and it was so good, ugh

How does the octopus scallop sotbap taste?
The octopus scallop sotbap has shredded potato in the rice!! I loved the faint smell of butter, like the octopus and scallops had been sautéed in it, and the potato boosts that softness and nuttiness even more. Thanks to that, it isn't bland at all, which I liked. This one is also great with side dishes on top.

Try wrapping it in seaweed like this too~~

The two of us after clearing everything.. I won't yo-yo back up after this, right? Ugh. No regrets though.
Morang Haemul Sotbap Jeongja Station branch verdict: a good group dinner spot?
If you have a group dinner but don't want to grill meat and just want a tidy, proper meal, I highly recommend Morang Haemul Sotbap Jeongja Station branch. The menu is varied enough to suit lots of people's tastes, and the place is clean and really spacious. I think I said "Why is it so big in here???" about 8 times,,
With tables for 2, tables for 4, group seating and more, I recommend it as a great choice for both dates and company dinners. Recommended~
