Geobukseom clam pot restaurant: pre-hospital family dinner, Bada Super
In short
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch is a steamed and grilled clam restaurant with floor-to-ceiling sea-view windows on the 3rd floor of 116 Geobukseom-ro, Siheung, Gyeonggi. Before the husband went into hospital, the family arrived right at opening on a rainy weekend and ate the free cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) given for a review, a medium broth clam pot with octopus, pen shell and abalone, and kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) to finish. With staff preparing the generous seafood and a rich broth, Bada Super made a satisfying family meal out with a child.

A rainy weekend, a family feast before the hospital: clam pot in Geobukseom
Last weekend it rained and rained. The wind was strong too, so it felt bleak, and it seemed the temperature would drop once the rain stopped. This week does feel a little colder. My husband was going to be in the hospital for four days for a procedure, so before that we pushed through the rain to go enjoy a feast of something tasty.
We got out at the underground parking, so we never had to walk in the rain. The weather actually seemed perfect for a steaming hot clam pot. This is about Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch, a Geobukseom favorite~

The underground parking has plenty of spaces.

At the building entrance there are standing signs for all the restaurants inside. I spotted the Bada Super sign, thought "yep, right place," and took the elevator.

When we got out on the 3rd floor, the signature menu was right there: broth clam pot, assorted grilled clams, lobster fondue. We went in wondering what to eat.

It has even been on an eating-show variety program.

Bada Super side dishes and restaurant atmosphere
Once you order at Bada Super, wasabi, coleslaw, pickled chili peppers and kimchi are set out. Everything is in one iron pan, so a clam pot honestly doesn't need side dishes. Still, I happily ate the coleslaw.😋
The pan is big, so there were burners on both sides.

Isn't the inside so clean? The mood is even better than in the photos; the photos can't capture it all. The sea sits beside you like a folding screen through the big windows, there are green plants here and there, and stylish songs keep playing, so you get pumped up again! Every day pumped up!😂

Each table is set with a burner, basic sauces and tableware, and you order with a T-order tablet.

It rained so hard that they hadn't opened the folding doors, but on sunny days it looks like they open them. It must feel like sitting right on the sea.

Self-bar, high chairs, and opening-time runs on weekends
Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch has a self-bar, and high chairs are well stocked. We hate waiting, so on weekends we mostly go right at opening. That way you can pick the seat you want, too.
The wood feel combined with the blue interior gives a strong sea vibe. Here comes the menu^^

Photo review service: cheese tteokbokki
If you write a photo review, you get a review service item. Ta-da! The first thing to arrive was cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes with cheese).

"Mom, when does the cheese break?" My kid waited, so I cut it with scissors. With cheese tteokbokki as an appetizer, my kid was thrilled.

What's in the medium broth clam pot in Geobukseom?
The main broth clam pot has arrived👍 A whole sea table was brought over. It looked exactly like the photo. Octopus, pen shell, abalone, small octopus, scallops, hard clams, mussels... there's everything.
I was going to go with the small size, but our kid is bigger now and ate clams quite well when we went to Eurwang-ri too. I asked, "Should I order a kids' meal, or do you want clams?" and the answer was clams, so we ordered the medium. Today we're smashing the seafood, haha

Under the seafood, out of sight, it's packed with napa cabbage and all kinds of vegetables.
A staff member explained how to eat it and prepared it for us. The cheese had melted before we knew it, and put on a clam, the clam's salty, clean flavor blended with the cheese's nutty richness. Pure bliss.

I also enjoyed the fish cake skewer in the corner. With broth this good, the fish cake can't be anything but delicious.
The freshly boiled octopus was chewy, and dipped lightly in chojang (sweet-sour chili sauce) it tasted like it was calling for alcohol, haha

There were scallops, and no matter how many I ate, there were more.
Staff prep and the order to eat in
The Bada Super staff told us to eat the clams that had opened their mouths first, and the pen shell and abalone after about 10 minutes. They give abalone per person. We each happily had one.
The staff prepped it and even put cheese on top like this. They placed the clams on the pen shell shell for us, so it was easy to eat.
A bite my husband handed me to try. Cheese on the clam, a little wasabi chojang, then one bite.
As you eat, they bring the shabu-shabu beef that comes with the clam pot. Fullness issues popped up here and there, and my husband said he couldn't eat any more, lol. "Clams can make you this full~" Still, we finished everything. You can't leave good food behind!

We lightly cooked the beef in the broth, which had turned into a rich stock from the seafood and vegetables.

A bite my kid handed me. That chewy, sweetish clam flavor is good on its own, but dipped in chojang it adds a tangy note.

The blue crab did its job well enough as a soup base, but my husband took it apart and ate it. The sweet meat and nutty innards were too good for something meant just for broth~

Kalguksu noodles to finish the clam pot
To finish, we added one serving of kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) sari (noodle add-on). Even though we were very full, the broth was so good, how could we leave without the noodles?
You loosen them up well like this and cook the noodles. I didn't ask, but the noodles were slightly wider than the usual ones, so I wondered if they were made in-house.

Weekend waits and a sea walk in Geobukseom
We went at opening, but when we left, customers kept coming in and Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch was totally packed.

Outside the restaurant there is a spot where people leave memories on clam shells and hang them up. There is also a long sofa in the hallway for waiting, so waiting is comfortable.
Since we'd come all the way to Geobukseom, I thought we should see the sea and went out, but the wind and rain were so fierce that I got a shock and hurried back in. If you walk out on the 1st floor, the sea is right outside, so it seems great for sightseeing and a stroll. Today, well... next time, haha
If you're looking for a good place in Oido or Geobukseom, try Bada Super Haemul Cheonha Jogaegui, Geobukseom Oido Branch! You can enjoy fresh grilled clams and a generous seafood steam pot with an open sea view, so I strongly recommend it for a Geobukseom date or group dinner!♡
