Eungam Station Korean BBQ: why two of us ate 1.1kg at Yukjjip
At Yukjjip (육쯥), the Korean BBQ place near Eungam Station, I went through everything on offer: pork belly, pork neck, gabeuri-sal (the muscle at the top of the pork belly), and galmaegisal (pork skirt). But this is my space, so no lies here. A lot of my own money went in, haha. For a Korean BBQ restaurant near Eungam Station, Yukjjip is insane.
I loved that it's a place in Eunpyeong where they grill for you, it sells draft beer, which made it even better, and the lush green Bulgwangcheon stream view is a bonus. I was happy with it in every way. It was so good that I kept ordering, and the two of us ended up eating 1.1kg. T_T

Where is Yukjjip, and what is the seating like?
Yukjjip is right by Eungam Station, at the start of Bulgwangcheon stream. It's a brand-new, freshly opened spot in what used to be an oven chicken restaurant! Putting the menu outside so you can decide before going in is always the right call~

Yukjjip uses a whole two-story building, and the first floor has 5 tables like this.

The second floor has 4-person and 6-person tables. The second floor has an atmosphere that would work fine as a company dinner spot in Eunpyeong.

Since it sits along Bulgwangcheon stream, this lush green view is just so good, you guys T_T T_T

Yukjjip menu and prices, and what we ordered
It's a meat place, so yes, there's meat~~ But I also felt the meals and sides were pretty varied!! Besides the usual doenjang stew, there's kimchi stew, cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew) and sundubu stew, plus bibimbap made with young radish kimchi, and mul/bibim guksu (cold and spicy noodles)~ Rice for kids 7 and under is free, and corkage is ₩5,000 per bottle.
- Yukjjip platter ₩54,000
- Yukjjip galmaegi ₩17,000 × 2
- Yukjjip thick-cut pork belly ₩17,000
- Doenjang stew ₩5,000
- Draft beer ₩4,000 × 4
We first ordered the 600g platter that's supposedly for 2–3 people, and it was so delicious that I kept adding more and more and more, and the two of us ate 1.1kg. I seriously can't figure out who sets the standard for one serving at a BBQ place.

Yukjjip side dishes
The side dishes come out first: coarse salt, saeujeot (salted shrimp)(?), garlic/chili/lettuce/ssamjang, myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves), white kimchi, green onion kimchi and seasoned bean sprouts. That saeujeot... well, it's not quite... it's a dry, chili-powdered salted shrimp(?) and it was so clean-tasting and delicious. The bean sprouts weren't just vinegary-chili-sauce flavored either, they were seasoned with real depth, so they paired perfectly with the meat~?

Start with Terra draft beer at Yukjjip
Okay!!!!!!!! BBQ places that sell draft beer aren't common, so at Yukjjip you absolutely have to order the draft. And even more so when it's a newly opened shop. Terra draft is my favorite, and Yukjjip uses Terra 🤍 If you're reading this and go to Yukjjip near Eungam Station, start by slamming a Terra draft 🤍

The 600g Yukjjip platter and the staff grilling service
This is the 600g Yukjjip platter.

The platter comes with a little garlic scapes, mushrooms and eggplant alongside the meat, and the grilling service, where staff cook it for you, is really great.

The vegetables, grilled with care in the meat's fat, are practically on par with the meat. Dip one in the coarse salt and it's just a flavor that says bring on the beer.
The shop itself has a very clean feel, and since they grill the meat for you from start to finish, you just chat and eat what's handed to you! T_T It's truly so❤️ be❤️ au❤️ ti❤️ ful
Pork neck and chili-powder salted shrimp
I'm a die-hard pork belly person, but Yukjjip's pork neck was so good,,, you get the texture of pork neck without it being dry, and the clean, mild flavor is amazing.

This salted shrimp(?) was really, really delicious. I usually like eating meat with onion pickles made with soy sauce, but even if Yukjjip had had onion pickles, I think I'd have eaten it with this salted shrimp. It isn't very salty, and it kind of lifts the flavor of the meat to another level?

Gabeuri-sal with myeongi namul
The gabeuri-sal was good too~ similar to pork belly but a bit chewier and bouncier?
The classic myeongi namul combo, but with the salted shrimp piled on top... this combo was the best. Pop it in your mouth and immediately grab some bean sprouts too, and it's just heaven... The Korean BBQ place near Eungam Station, no, the meat heaven, is Yukjjip, I'm telling you T_T

They even ask how fast you want it grilled
The grilling service at Yukjjip was really thoughtful too. After finishing the pork neck, before putting on the pork belly, they asked whether we wanted it grilled right away or slowly. Honestly it would be easier for the staff to grill it all in one go and keep it in that container! Thanks to that, we got to eat freshly grilled meat comfortably and deliciously T_T

Around here, another draft beer please. And seriously, how do they pour the foam ratio so perfectly? The Terra draft is so tasty lol

Well-fermented green onion kimchi and Jirisan pork
With that green onion kimchi, I thought selling Jjapaguri-style Chapagetti noodles as a side would be great lol. I usually like green onion kimchi, but strangely I never reach for it when eating meat. Yukjjip's was quite well fermented, so it was just right with meat. It's good wrapped in lettuce too, but since this is an Eunpyeong BBQ place that ages and sells Jirisan pork, just picking up the meat on its own was the best~

Extra galmaegisal and pork belly, plus doenjang stew
It was so good that we added galmaegisal... added pork belly... galmaegisal has a different charm from pork neck and it's amazing...
Yukjjip's doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) is salty and comes out lava-style, bubbling hot. Seeing it makes you say silly things like, loser of rock-paper-scissors has to just scoop it without blowing on it. The point seemed to be the plentiful radish inside!! For a doenjang stew it has a savory depth almost like cheonggukjang, and it's quite salty. If I hadn't been drinking beer I'd have ordered rice too, but since I had beer, I held back. My mindset was completely Jang Wonyoung.

When is a good day to go to Yukjjip?
On a day off, at an awkward in-between hour, going to a BBQ place that grills for you and having meat with draft beer can make you the happiest person in the world. I ate pork belly, pork neck, gabeuri-sal and galmaegisal, but nothing was good or bad, it's just a matter of taste, everything was delicious. Yukjjip is a huge recommendation as a Korean BBQ near Eungam Station, and with the grilling service, draft beer and stream view, everything is perfect!
