Today I visited Forerest, a café tucked deep in the forest that felt like a secret hideout far from the city. The moment I stepped in, thick trees filled the view outside the window, and the fresh scent of grass and wood put my mind at ease right away. Enjoying tea time surrounded by nature — just the sight of it was healing. Let me share that moment of listening to birdsong and wind while enjoying delicious desserts.

Where Forerest is and how to get there by bus 8

Forerest is located at 181 Nokyang-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it makes for a decent Uijeongbu date spot or drive course too. They told us parking fits over 100 cars, so the place seemed pretty large in scale.

It's also right in front of a bus stop, so it worked well without a car. We took bus 8 from Ganeung Station or Uijeongbu Station and got off at "Woojeong Village".

Walking a little way up the road, we arrived right away. It felt like discovering a cozy dessert hideout hidden in the forest.

I was surprised by how striking the exterior looked from the start. It felt like being the main character in a movie! How did they decorate it so beautifully. 💕

Looking at the full shot set on the pretty table, it was enough to make you feel full and smile just from the sight! As you can see in the photos, the deep color of the cakes paired with the look of the warm drink cups made me keep taking photos the moment they were served. Made in-house, the flavor was even deeper, and the 16-hour refrigerated aging made a huge difference.

What impressed me most was the perfect balance across the four menu items. Both Basque cheesecakes are dense desserts where the deep natural flavor of the ingredients and the heaviness of cream cheese really come through. Alternating bites, the nuttiness and bitterness filling my mouth were so appealing. 😘

Pair this with a warm, soft cappuccino with cinnamon wafting through — the bitterness of the coffee lifted the flavor even further, and finishing off with the clean, subtle chamomile tea let us enjoy everything cleanly to the end. Matcha Basque cheesecake at Forerest

For any matcha obsessive, this had a deep flavor that would make your eyes light up. The surface has that signature bitter, nutty char, while the inside is very moist and dense. The moment I cut it with a fork and put it in my mouth, the richness of the cream cheese hit first, followed by a deep bitterness and fresh grassy scent that balanced the sweetness perfectly. It wasn't just sweet — a deep flavor lingered, and I ate it happily to the last bite.

Thanks to snacks that felt carefully made one by one, we had such a happy tea time at Forerest! Each café item on its own has a high level of completion, but the combination of all of them together was really what made this place shine. Cappuccino and chamomile tea

The cappuccino won me over from the first touch of velvety milk foam against my lips. The foam didn't collapse quickly and stayed dense and fluffy, which made me feel good from the first sip. The spicy-sweet scent of cinnamon powder sprinkled over the foam brushed past my nose, followed by the bitter espresso and nutty steamed milk combo, which was perfect. Sip after sip, the flavor felt like it doubled.

The chamomile was a pleasant tea, with a subtle apple and herb scent spreading warmly that seemed to quietly settle even my mind. With each sip, the gentle sweetness lingering in my mouth and the clean aftertaste were really appealing. There was no astringency or dryness at all, so it played the role of cleansing the palate. It felt like it gently wrapped around my stomach, perfect for when you want to relax and heal.

Filled with the feeling of healing in nature, it was a day with the green, relaxed flavor unique to a forest café added on top. As expected of a large Uijeongbu café and a famous cake spot! *^^*

We went in the evening, so there were quite a few people, but the atmosphere was still quiet. That let us focus even more on exploring the flavors.

Black sesame cheesecake

This was the ultimate in nuttiness and exactly my taste. The moment a piece went into my mouth, the nutty flavor of black sesame spread across my whole palate. The texture had just a slight graininess that quickly smoothed out. Its distinctive savoriness combined with the cake's subtle sweetness to create a luxurious flavor. Even parents or friends who don't usually enjoy sweets could really enjoy this.

There wasn't a dull moment anywhere, as each zone or room held a completely different interior concept and personality. Every step brought the joy of discovering a new, unexpected charm.

Walking through each clearly themed space felt like a different kind of fun, like exploring separate galleries or villas. Each zone carried its own distinct temperature and texture, so I felt something new with every visit.

The staff were all kind, and the place was managed meticulously. Maybe that's why it looked especially neat and clean. :-D

How good is the forest view?

Thanks to a location wrapped in green forest, we enjoyed pure nature away from the city. The improved forest view spreading out beyond the window and the refreshing air gave a sense of complete rest just from staying there.

The dense trees naturally shut out the surroundings, giving a sense of stability and tidy coziness, as if entering a secret forest hideout only I knew about.

During the day, light filtering through the leaves brightened the space, and at night, lighting suited to each zone's mood seeped in, making it even more beautiful.
