My daughter's hair condition and choosing the treatment

I visited Uahan Meori, popular for kids' perms too, with my middle-school daughter. For her heavy, long-grown hair, we decided on a build perm mixing S-curls and C-curls along with a layered cut.

Her natural brown hair has never been dyed, but she has used hair gel for years, so it was very dry and had some fading too :(

Lightening straight long hair with a layered cut

The stylist started with the cut, and so much of that heavy straight hair got snipped off, haha (I envy her thick hair~).

Before, she had to tie her hair up every day, so we only trimmed the ends straight. But summer is getting hot, the hair looked heavy and was hard to dry, so we went for a light layered cut.

After a refreshing shampoo, they let her hair sit for a while because she has an oily scalp.

They served cold tea and snacks, which we enjoyed looking out the big windows. The unobstructed view made the waiting less boring.

S-curl and C-curl heat perm: how long does it take?

At Uahan Meori she got a heat perm mixing C-curls and S-curls. They said they also took care to nourish her hair so its protein wouldn't escape.

The top of her hair is a bit frizzy and curly, so they went over it once with a flat iron. I also wanted to try a straightening treatment, but since she has to tie her hair up every day, we saved that for next time.. The whole treatment took about 2 hours.

Kids' and middle schoolers' perm results and care tips

My daughter doesn't like very strong curls, and she was happy with how natural these came out :) They protect the hair from damage while perming, which is probably why it's a popular Wangsimni salon for kids' perms. Kids' scalps and hair are still delicate, after all, haha.

They say a heat perm only looks pretty if you dry the hair completely. With her long hair it was hard to dry it thoroughly every night, but now that it's thinner and lighter, the drying time has clearly shortened :)

The finished look! The perm came out so pretty and I'm happy with it. You know kids are extra sensitive about their hair, right? haha We'll dry it well at home the way they showed us and look after her hair too :)
