Pocheon sunset-view café with Mom, honey choco cake: Geurine Oasis

I took a day trip to Pocheon before it gets any colder! Pocheon has so many pretty, big bakery cafés. Among them, I found one that is dog-friendly and has a gorgeous view too. So let's start my honest review of Geurine Oasis >_<

Where is Geurine Oasis, and is parking easy?

Geurine Oasis is at 442 Jugyeopsan-ro, Soheul-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do (1st floor), near Gwangneung Arboretum, and it is open every day from 09:30 to 22:00. The parking lot in front of the café is big, and there are even staff guiding cars in the lot, so I had no trouble at all.

Geurine Oasis feels like a café abroad. Even with lots of people inside, it never felt crowded! It's a perfect stop after Pocheon's famous beef short ribs (so galbi) or a visit to Gwangneung Arboretum!

What is the indoor atmosphere like at Geurine Oasis?

The inside of Geurine Oasis was modern and classic, like an art museum, and calm, which made it even prettier. Still, most visitors seem to grab a seat outside, because the outdoor view is amazing! Let me show you right away ˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚

Geurine Oasis at sunset: rooftop and outdoor seat views

The real charm of Geurine Oasis is the view from the rooftop and the outdoor tables. The day I visited was around sunset, so the autumn sky was especially pretty.

They say the autumn sky is beautiful, and it's really true, haha

The view is just so pretty, right? The timing on my visit was perfect too, and the sky at sunset was gorgeous, haha. The inside of the café is pretty, but the rooftop and outdoor tables were the real stars! I think it would be lovely in winter too ㅠㅠ

What is on the menu at Geurine Oasis?

Besides coffee, drinks, bakery items and cakes, the Geurine Oasis menu also has drinks for dogs and drinks for kids. You can also sit by a fire pit (bulmeong, staring into a fire).

At Geurine Oasis I ordered the honey chocolate cake and an Americano. The cake and drink came out quickly, not long after I ordered.

What is the dog-friendly area at Geurine Oasis like?

Geurine Oasis has a space where dogs can run free, with double doors so the dogs can't get outside. It's mainly for small dogs, and dogs that nip or are fierce need to be leashed ㅠㅠ~!

The view looks over water and felt so pretty and exotic. I think it would also be lovely to take a drink to go and stroll by the lake in front of the café ♥️ Oh! Even when the dogs are let loose, the double doors keep them from getting out, so you can relax!

How does the honey chocolate cake at Geurine Oasis taste?

The honey chocolate cake at Geurine Oasis has a soft, fluffy texture, a bit like a tteok cake (rice cake-style cake). It's called honey chocolate cake, and it's so fluffy, kind of like a rice cake cake, and honestly just so delicious ㅠㅠ I'm not lying, it was the best cake I've ever had..! Because of this cake and the view, my chance of coming back is 500%. It even looks a bit like a rice cake cake, right!?

Are the drink cups at Geurine Oasis reusable?

Drinks at Geurine Oasis come in reusable plastic cups. They're handy in so many ways that I took mine home! This was the café my mom liked the most, haha. When I got home I realized it's really practical too. Just so you know, the cups are reusable~!

Is Geurine Oasis worth visiting again?

With its view, honey chocolate cake and dog-friendly policy, Geurine Oasis is a Pocheon bakery café I'd happily return to. The view really did it all! Isn't a café finished once the view and the drinks are good, haha. On top of that it's dog-friendly, so for many reasons I want to come back!! If you're looking for a bakery café in Pocheon, I strongly recommend Geurine Café~!

I don't like greasy, rich food much, so I can't eat a lot of desserts ㅠ But this honey chocolate cake wasn't rich at all, and I'm still thinking about it ㅠㅠ The cake was delicious, of course..! But the café is so big and dog-friendly that I'd also recommend it as a stop after enjoying Pocheon beef short ribs, haha.
