Cheonan brunch café with arugula pizza and outdoor huts: Geurimseu

Now that the weather is getting cooler, I keep looking for big, comfy cafés with open outdoor space and pretty interiors. Today I'm introducing Geurimseu (그림스), a bakery brunch café in the Guryong-dong area of Cheonan that's perfect for a drive out! It's a spacious place with tasty brunch and lots of baked goods, and you can stay comfortably both indoors and outdoors with your doggos. Pretty much perfect.

Where is Geurimseu Cafe in Cheonan?

Geurimseu Cafe is at 232 Mijuk 5-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, Chungnam. It's in the Guryong-dong area of Cheonan, a good spot for a drive.

Is parking easy at Geurimseu Cafe?

There are two separate lots: one in front of the café and a second lot on the road up to it. For a big café, the parking was well sorted.

The moment you open the door, you get a nutty butter aroma and a bakery display so tempting you can't look away.

What breads does the Geurimseu Cafe bakery sell?

The bakery has a really wide range, from plain breads to savory prepared breads, cookies and cakes. There were so many tasty-looking breads,,

From plain, lightly salty basic breads to hearty prepared breads that look filling just by sight, there's plenty to pick from to suit your taste.

Scallion pretzel bagel: a bagel of a lifetime

Personally, I loved the scallion pretzel bagel. It's the café's best-seller, and I took one home. It was the best scallion bagel of my life! The cream cheese is rich and nutty, and it pairs so well with the spicy kick of the scallions.

The display in front of the counter also sells chewy cookies (jjonddeuk cookies),

and there were also fresh fruit cake slices and a mugwort steamed rice cake (ssuksiru cake).

When I visited, they were running a ₩2,000 drink discount with a brunch order and 10% off for university students. The coffee menu had plenty of varieties.

After ordering, I headed inside to find a seat and spotted a signature on the wall. It turned out to be a signed piece from the athlete Jang Mi-ran~

What is the seating like at Geurimseu Cafe?

Geurimseu Cafe has lots of roomy seat types: the ground floor, sofa seats a half-flight up, group tables for 8 or more, and separate outdoor hut spaces. Plants and pots fill the café, giving it an indoor botanical garden feel.

Now let's take a proper look around the inside. True to a big café, there were so many seats and so much space! Fresh plants and pretty pots fill every corner, so it felt like walking into an indoor botanical garden, with a lush, healing vibe.

Sofa seats a half-flight up and group tables for 8 or more

If you go up about half a flight of stairs from the ground floor, there are quite a few seats there too, and the sofa chairs were comfy.

There are also big group tables that seat 8 or more, so it works for gatherings or visiting with a larger group.

Overall, every seat was really comfortable. The space is wide open, so you can relax without any hassle while you stay.

Private outdoor huts and ground-floor outdoor tables

Outside, if you go up the stairs there are hut-like private spaces.

They're perfect for a nice-weather day like these days~

The ground-floor outdoor area has tables too, and many of the people sitting there were visiting with dogs or were families with kids. Baby chairs are also available~

How was the wood-fired arugula pizza at Geurimseu Cafe?

The arugula pizza was piled generously with arugula and bacon, and the wood-fired dough was chewy and really good. We ordered it as our brunch dish, along with a cold Americano and a cold brew.

The dough is baked in a wood-fired oven, so the bread was really chewy, and the cheese was nutty too. The arugula pizza itself was just so good.
